Hi, couldn't find the link for this song but I went into your website and had a listen to your Free Cd. Really enjoyed it, all good songs, I think my favorite is 'Up to no good again' but they are all very good. Great lyrics/harmonies, well produced, If I had to pick on something, I would prefer a bit less reverb on the vocals, I think your voice is strong enough and good enough to carry the vocals, but that is being really picky and is just down to my preference. Yes will listen again (and again),
Thanks.

Haaaaaaaaaaa! Man, when that Jerry Lee honky piano started poundin', the smile on my face just got wider and wider ... and wider! Wicked guitar solo going on here as I listen. Like you said yourself, "that's what I'm 'talkin' 'bout."

Floyd, maybe I don't follow the field closely enough, but you sound like much more than just a gigging musician. You're certainly a lot better than Jeff Bridges was in Crazy Heart (I sure hope you saw it) and I thought Jeff was damned fine in that movie, doing his own singing and playing. You've got Jeff in your pocket along with a lot of others. Can I say, "Yeh, but now Waylon ... Waylon definitely has it over Floyd"? No, can't say that.

Great ride to the fishin' spot.

Dean said it best! Another other winner from the dynamic duo! You and Janice are just fantastic together.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

What he said. A lot of work went into this bad boy.

Floyd,
Awesome! Masterful work on the mix. With all the RTs you used, it's amazingly uncluttered. Super job!

Floyd. I think I've gotta play this one to my better half because he seems to go fishing more often than just "sometimes"

You intuitively know what the song needs to have, and where it needs to reside.. and now you also have the technical ability to figure out how to make things happen that are way over and above what the software does automatically!

I think of all the nay-sayers who act as though using BIAB is a cop-out.. as though you press a button and a masterpiece emerges the first time. What you are doing here is high creativity in a bunch of different directions at the same time!

You wear all the hats, and you wear them well. The industry savvy to understand what elements need to exist, and how the whole project needs to develop cohesively in order to achieve the desired effect... all that is only PART of what sets you apart from the rest of us.

And having had both a grandfather and a father who went fishing very often and a son who likes it too, I can surely relate to this....

Yep, great song....

Appreciate it, Herb...

Thanks, Dean - always nice when you drop in for a listen... we'll make a Country fan out of you yet! That is one of the nice things about this community... we seem to be expanding each other's musical landscapes... and then we have BIAB to paint it as we see fit... I have been thinking of doing some jazz stuff myself... smile or maybe a cover of "I've Grown Accustom To Her Face"... smile

Hi Floyd,
What a great tune and the production is unbelievable (as usual). I am nothing but impressed every time I listen to your productions.
I do a couple of open mic nights here in the UK and have played your CD's to a few people and they can't believe that you are not signed to a major label (maybe you don't want that).
Could I have your permission to do this song on an open mic night?
I also saw somewhere here on this forum that you offered to provide the .SGU for this song. So could I trouble you for that?

One last question: We have a couple of country radio programs over here and one notable one is presented by Bob Harris, you may have heard of him, and he is always promoting new artists. So with that in mind, would you agree if I pointed him in the direction of your CD's with a view to air them on the BBC?

Thanks again for providing such soul searching lyrics coupled with great vocal and professional arrangements

Good song.

Hi, Al...

Thanks for all those nice comments. The answer to all your questions is "Yes - of, course!". Feel free to play any of my songs. Feel free to show them to anyone. And anyone is free to play them wherever and however they like.

I'll look for the SGU and email it to you. It may or may or contain the exact set of instruments (I test a lot of things along the way)... whatever I finish with will be listed in the original post of the this thread...

Herb and David - thanks for visiting...

Signed into the forums lookin' at the new songs
See the name "Floyd Jane" and know the writing's strong
It's all about fishin' using earworms and hooks
I want to remember all this stuff and grab my notebook
because
sometimes you forget what you've been missin'
sometimes you just gotta go fishin'

Thanks for sharing this! I seriously just love your writing!

Oh, and your arrangement sounds so real. It's like I can picture the players. To me, THAT is a huge accomplishment...when you forget about the "how it was made", and just listen because you aren't distracted by it not sounding real.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
