Hello guys,

This is another very fine collab!
Beautiful classic country stuff.
The pedal steel guitar sounds very professional.
and then: Janice's voice.... always beautiful, but this is the best I heard from her so far!

Regards,
Rob

Nice.

"The time has come for me to find

You’re no longer mine Guess it’s a sign
I need to find a way to say goodbye"

Very nice.

The melody at "not cry" is exceptional.

Everything about this captures that "Patsy thing" perfectly. The arrangement is dead-on. The mix is, of course, perfect.

No one better to sing this type of song! Janice, you nailed this. (But... we all KNEW you would!!!)

Tom the steel sounds great to me. (Cannot imagine how hard that must be to do...)

A great listen....

floyd

floyd, thank you very much for your kind remark about my vocal. From a singer like you that means so much.

The steel tone sounds good. Quite often we are our own worst critics. I felt the same way about my tone and playing for a very long time.... don't give it a second thought. This is nice tone....and I LOVED how the piano picked up and ended the steel solo... nice production call.

Janet's sultry singing style shines on this....in classic Patsy Cline fashion.

As a guitarist, the only thing I felt this was lacking was a nice hot picker to throw in some real fills and half of the solo...... That would have balanced it a bit and not made it so much of a "steel" song. I love using production chops that alternate two lead instruments ... often one per verse on the fills.

Either way, this is a great song.... well done.

Thanks a bunch Herb! Tom gave me a great write to work with.

Hi Tom and Janice ...

Sounds like 1963 all over again! I was a sophomore in high school then ... yikes, I'm freaking old! Janice's voice reminds me a lot of Patsy Cline when she sings country. On this particular song, there's a lot of patsy in her voice, but I also hear touches of Jean Sheppard (a lot less nasal than Jean, though).

Great lyric! Floyd already pointed out the best lines ... couldn't agree with him more! The pedal steel was real nice and the production was spot on! great song and delivery in all respects. loved it!

A stunning production, I love the mix and the song. Radio ready.

Janice, the emotion and dynamics in your vocal, bending those notes, captivating, smooth, wow!

Tom, you too, wow! The RT's are just right and that steel puts this in the big leagues.

Bravo!!

Scott , It's great that you're back. Thanks for the nice things you've said about this song. Bud and Janice are incredibly easy to work with. Tom

Rob, thanks for listening and commenting. Obviously we were going for the Patsy vibe and we didn't want to stray too far from that. Thanks again, Tom

Hi Tom & Janice, great job on this song, the melody is beautiful, and stunningly sung by the warm voice of Janice. I love the slide guitar, that sound so melancholy and sweet, it is a pleasure to hear you, you play very well. And the mix sounds very good.

When I heard the song come to my mind the idea that I would like to hear it without drums, or rhythm very minimalistic, ... just an idea ;-)
Gracias for your music.

Gotcha Alan -- I was a junior in high school that year smile

Bud

Alan, thank you so much for saying that about Patsy. She is one of my absolute favorites and it's so nice to be mentioned in the same post with her!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
