Howdy fellow BIAB users!

I just found out this forum existed via a Facebook post. Cool! I've been making original songs with BIAB for years!

Here's one I did last year. I used the Soul70S Style and the only outside component added was some drum loops. Hope you Enjoy!

Lyrics:
I don’t know how
But you do it every time
I see that innocent smile
and you do it every time

How do you come to find
When will I get you out of my mind
Oh I know it’s true
I got 5 more reasons why I can’t
Stop Loving You

I don’t know when
But you do it all the time
turn me into such a mess
Oh you do it all the time

How do you come to find
When will I get you out of my mind
Oh I know it’s true
Here are 5 more reasons why I can’t
Stop Loving You

How do I read the signs
How can I make sure you are mine
Tell me what to do
Here are 5 more reasons why I can’t
Stop Loving You

Hi, Michael,
Plenty of reasons to listen to your song smile
This is good songwriting. You did a great job on the orchestration. And your voice... You're a natural singer and performer.
That powerful voice of yours deserves imho to be a little more in front. Some extra compression maybe ?
Hope to hear many more...
Fred

Hey Fred!

Thanks for the nice words and feedback. I admit I'm not the best "masterer" but I do all of it on my own and I'm still learning about compression, reverb, gate, blah de blah...If only I were independently wealthy and could spend all my time... :-)

Happy New Year!!!!

Howdy Michael,

That was an enjoyable listening experience! You've got a great voice.

I thought the balances were fine (at least on my system). Like you, though, I find mixing the toughest part of the whole journey of a song's creation.

Welcome to the forum,
Noel

Michael,

This is a terrific listen.

Nice arrangement and mix. Very good vocals and harmonies.
There are a couple of cymbal crashes that were just a hair too loud.
Everything else is "right in the pocket".

Looking forward to hearing more...

Welcome to the Showcase!

Hey There Michael,

Your music sounds really good,
I must say I bought BIAB for my mac, and it would be one of the greatest studio tools I've ever used as far as coming up with Quick ideas for some of my clients are concerned,

I posted a song I wrote for my wife on YouTube, called " Just To Be With You "
http://youtu.be/UiVv_YaM-1U
just using BIAB, what a great product, the song even won the Directors Award in the Nashville International Song Competition, which was pretty cool,

Keep up the great work,

From Australia
Kind Regards
Geir

Hi, Michael.

Nice song, well sung and produced. In particular, I liked the background vocals, which really helped give it that '70s sound.

Thanks for posting!

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Really nice song and I enjoyed my listen a lot. Nice melody on 5 good reasons and great vocals and backing vocals. I checked out a few of your other songs on the page and you've done a good job on them all. I'm looking forward to many more posts from you.

Nice... this kind of reminded me of the Bee Gees for some reason.... in their Saturday Night Fever phase.

Lots of folks here use BB/RB with live tracks and loops so welcome.... join the crowd.

I liked this song with one small exception..... the part that started at 2 minutes into the song.... the instrumental break... just did not fit with the previous chords IMHO.... nor did the ending chord. For a solo/instrumental break.... don't leave familiar territory with chords that are not related to the melodic flow.... make the break some version of the verse progression and you'll have it made.

Depending on the BB style... you gotta watch those ending chords too.... BB will throw a jazz chord on you in a heartbeat.

Aside from that nit..... this is a good pop song. I enjoyed it.

Welcome
