Hey guys! How close are we to getting the MIXER to remember our volume edits that occur during a song?
Having fun!

Hi Johnny. My results here are mixed (pun intended).
Some of the mixer volume settings actually are remembered. Others jump back to 90. I believe, from past discussions on the subject, it has something to do with the style chosen and the fact that some styles (not all) will reset the track volumes even if you Save With Patches and Harmony like I do.
Perhaps someone who writes styles could comment on whether I am correct? Of course, you and I play trumpet, so others may say we are always loud!

Wonderful Matt! Yes, I remember those previous posts. But again, this has to do with edits on individual tracks made during playback, and of having the sliders remember the movements made during the playback.
Having fun!

Y'all mean "envelopes"..... for volume and panning.....
Generally, those are found in full featured DAW's. Which is why I take my tunes over to Sonar for mixing and not in BB/RB.
Does RB support envelopes? I'm asking because I thought I looked some time back and could not see how to do them in RB.
EDIT: Alyssa from support said there are "nodes" in RB but not envelopes, for controlling volume changes.

You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.comAdd nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both. The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.

Oh, that.
Yes, for recorded mixer movements, otherwise known as automation envelopes, you need a DAW. Wishlist time, though.

Realband DOES record and save both volume nodes and real-time recorded fader moves.
In addition, using the mixer window, it will record real-time aux send changes and pan settings.
It will also store changes to the settings of VST effects used on channel inserts, effects busses and the master buss.

I thought he meant BIAB. That's a very good point, ROG.
Do you know if Realband supports control surfaces, like the Mackie Control Unit? If so, it would probably support the new Behringer X-touch units due out soon, which could be very nice.

Matt, the 2014 editions of Band-in-a-Box and RealBand do not support surface controllers. I asked and received confirmation from support last year and in 2013. I have a Korg nanoKontroller2 I use with Cakewalk's Music Creator 6 but I never have been able to find a way to use it with Biab or RB. If you would like to add a +1 to my wishlist requests, ++ HERE ++ is a link to the Band-in-a-Box request and ++ HERE ++ is the link for the RealBand request.

Hello ROG, I've watched "many" of your videos on YouTube.
Win 10, 64 bit, love my Lenovo T420, BIAB 2019 (613), RB 2019 (2)
Short term memory is getting shorter.

Hey Eddy, thanks for watching.
We're gradually adding more and more, in both English and French, (poor French!) but it's quite time consuming. We hope to have more time to devote to it in 2015.
All the best, ROG.

Hi Johnny!
The volume changes that are done in BB (via the F5 dialog for example) don't affect the volume settings on the mixer. So if the volume is 90, and you reduce the volume by 10 using the F5 dialog, it is still 90 on the mixer, it is just reduced internally by the program.
So the mixer wouldn't want to be moving around the volumes, because they aren't changing.
Perhaps the easiest way to think of it is that the volumes on the mixer are the "master volumes" for each track, and not the internal volume changes that go on as a result of the F5 bar settings dialog.
Have Fun! Peter Gannon PG Music Inc.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
