Heavier Than Normal

The drums are from Band-in-a-Box style Heavy Metal #2. The drums are verbatim. I deleted everything else.

I am playing my new fretless bass, rhythm guitar, lead guitar. I am also playing the B3 via my both my MIDI keyboard controller and my MIDI guitar controller.

I tried to capture a late 60's early 70's sound on this jam.

What do you think?

Sounds very much like one of the extended jams off vinyl straight from the 60's. Good job all around.

man, you've been busy this week Mario! 3 songs on the front page at once! I'm still working on my first post in 5 years!

Reminds me of the jam sessions we used to have in the summer of 1971 in my buddy's garage. The only thing missing is the track where somebody starts pounding on the door demanding that you turn down the volume, there's a baby trying to sleep a block away...

You've been all overthe creative spectrum lately, but I enjoyed this. Its closer to what I understand.

Hi Mario,

It sounds like you had fun making this which is what it's all about! Loved the sound of your new fretless bass and the Santana'esque guitar.

Rock on!

Cool Jam!! As one who became musically aware in the 60's, I love this feel. I think more verb on the guitar and B3 could enhance them a bit. Excellent stuff!! Take care. Greg

Of your new songs posted the other day, I like this one most Mario. Probably because the drum style and rhythm guitar. Like that bass too and your organ sound. Thanks for sharing!

Thanx all for listening and commenting.

Charlie that was exactly the image that I was trying to paint!

Gruverider, Greg, Eric and Rob I'm glad that you liked it.

Pat none of these were done in a week. I have had these songs partially done for about a month but the holidays and life got into the way of finishing them. Things have calmed down so I had some time to finish them.

That was a good thought and in fact I should have put someone screaming that and/or cop car sirens in the background at the end. Note that this was recorded in "Joe's Garage" grin

We must be close in age. Remember the Fillmore East albums, Humble Pie, Moby Grape, Allman Brothers, Bloomfield and Cooper, etc?

Rec yes I had a ball doing this one. Thanx for the Santana comment.

I'm 61

And yeah, I remember. I saw Humble Pie live at the Hampton Roads coliseum in about 1973

I think they played with Gentle Giant and Foghat.
Still listen to Allman Brothers. Not so much the other bands.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
