I think it was John Lennon who said “ The only thing more popular than the Beatles is a shuffle.” OK well maybe that’s not entirely accurate. In any event here is a shuffle. Interesting notes are the left hand piano doubling the bass, the wood block in the verses, the triplet notes in the bass line. All of these are taken from many years of listening to Ray Price records. All comments/suggestions welcome. Tom

What Could possibly Go Wrong

I woke up this morning and I fell right out bed

Picked myself up off the floor and tried to clear my head

Brushed my teeth with clearasil that didn’t taste so good

Not quite ready to profess my love but I’m in the neighborhood

Everytime I look at him there’s one thing on my mind

i’ve heard it said that fools rush in and that love is blind

I can't believe that I could have waited for so long

Lately I've been thinking what could possibly go wrong

instrumental break

Chorus

I put my coat on inside out then I couldn’t find the keys

I must have left my phone at work What’s happening to me

I stumbled down the stairway kinda rolled my way outside

Either I’m in love with him or just preoccupied

Everytime I look at him there’s one thing on my mind

i’ve heard it said that fools rush in and that love is blind

I can't believe that I could have waited for so long

Lately I've been thinking what could possibly go wrong

Hey guys,
What better than a shuffle to loose the blues!
Made me feel like dancing :-)
Janices voice is so clear, like she's standing next to me. And Tom... you can't beat a home played steel guitar!
I liked the lyrics, nice story, humor and romance! great combination!
The mix, can't find any weaknesses.
A great listen, gonna put this on again!

SWEEEEEEET from start to finish!! Cute, funny, romantic, and as said "radio ready". Mix is superb, vocals blend sooooo sweetly! If there's anything wrong with this one, I have no idea what it is. Awesome job! And as a bonus, I got to hear WHO I ONCE WAS again, and that was again a treat. Love what you guys are doing. Take care. Greg

It sounds like a Ray Price song from the first steel guitar lick. This is a nice write and even flowing tune that pulls a bit of the bluegrass voice of Janice out.

Great country flavor.

Guys, this is fantastic! Sounds like a Nashville song from the late 60s / early 70s... Great sound!

Given some of the recent developments on the forum (Dani), maybe we can all use a little smile. Thanks Fred, Tom

Hi Tom, Janice & Bud,

very nice lyrics. Made me smile.
And a pro production. Janice's voice and Tommy's guitars make it sound radio ready.

Wow! This is an awesome song on every level (I Know the word "awesome" has become overused, but in this case it's totally accurate)

The lyrics are cleverly written (I guess by Tommy?)
and flawlessly delivered by Janice

Love that walking bass line echoed by the piano!

And that pedal steel! Tommy, when I visit you'll have to play that for me! I tried to learn pedal steel back in 72 and gave up... and what you are doing is far from being the easy stuff! Just thrilling to hear when somebody can make a pedal steel sing (and you can!)

I sound like a broken record, but y'all need to make a compilation of your best collabs and see if you can't market them... you're better than anything I hear in the radio!

Thanks y'all! This was my first chance to sing a country lead vocal in a while and it was a lot of fun. And a shuffle at that!

Greg, It really is unfortunate that this style is on the way out. The only place you would ever hear anything like this is Texas. I hope they can keep it alive. Tom

Lawrence, Don't shake your head too much. We just recently got you back and we don't want you to hurt yourself. Thanks, Tom

As I said Ray Price was on my mind the entire time. I know you would have picked up on that whether I said anything or not. Thanks Charlie, Tom

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
