Hi Lawrence and Rob & Anne-Marie,

thanks a lot for taking the time to listen and comment.
It's an incentive for me.

Hi Guenter. I am a little late to this party! The original is not really my taste but I love your version. You did a great job on the vocals which are so much clearer in your version

Hi Noel,

thanks a lot for your kind comments. Yes, BiaB is a wonder!

I'm curious, do you use the audiophile edition of BIAB/RB?

I started with it. But now I'm using the ordinary edition. And I must admit I can't hear the difference.

Have you installed the "regular" version over your original Audiophile version?... in which case, I would suspect, most of your RTs would still be wavs from the Audiophile version.. wouldn't they?...

No, I use a different drive. The Audiophile tracks are in my drawer and are not touched.

As I listen to your remixes I have to think that they may do more than anything else to showcase the versatility of BIAB! You are going way beyond styles and genres in these productions.. usually starting with songs that are already highly creative and different from the styles that ship with BIAB. But when you fuse these artists' work with your creative genius plus Real Tracks, it's as though you've created a whole new art form! Please keep doing this! Every one of your remixes has been jaw-droppingly good!

As mentioned when you remixed your first KAN WAKAN song, I really like this group! All of the musicians play multiple instruments, they are musically very smart and innovative, and the singer is stylish, beautiful and incredible. So you are starting with the very best raw material, then ramping it up to a new height.

How you find the right tracks is a mystery to me... some of what you used in this project, I've never even heard! But you have the magic knack for finding and combining sounds that work well on every level.. from capturing the inherent emotion, to being just plain musical and beautiful!

I'd like to hear your remix of one of my songs if I ever post any!

Guenter,

This mix is really creative and sounds superb to my ears. I love how the vocals pop out, yet everything seems to just sit in the mix like it needs to. Very enjoyable to listen to.

Hi Pat,

thanks a lot for your profound review.

At the moment I'm in a remix phase. I have so much fun with it that I'm going to do some more until I get another idea.

The mystery is called BiaB! It makes it so easy to experiment. In the 80s I used to record every instrument myself (except lead guitars which were played by friends). The "disadvantage" of BiaB is that it makes you lazy and prevents you from playing yourself because you can't do it better than the RTs.

I'm looking forward to that!

Guenter,

You are a tone fanatic! You find tones in RealTracks that shouldn't exist. I am amazed hearing the electric bass as the PopWaltz track I have sounds nothing like yours! The notes are there but the sound is not.

Bravo! Sorry you did not win.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
