En bruger skriver til mig:
Jeg har arbejdet med BB i mange år. - Købte den først inst.CD-rom i 2007. Den bruger jeg stadig. Styresystemet på min ligeledes aldrende PC er Vista. Det var temmelig problematisk at installere BB på den. Jeg måtte tilkøbe: 'EDIROL usb midi interface UM-2ex', samt eksternt lydkort: 'Creative usb Sound Blaster'. Men nu har den så fungeret rimeligt, men ikke optimalt i alle årene.
Selve den grundlæggende funktion af BB er jo et fremragende koncept. Derfor har jeg haft stor gavn af det - både m.h.t. frenbringelse af lydfiler og nodeudskrivning.
Lige nu skal min Vista PC afløses af en ny. Den nye skulle gerne kunne håndtere BB uden for meget tilkøb og installationsbesvær. Desuden vil jeg købe BB 2015.
- Kan du fortælle mig, hvilket styresystem, der er anbefalelsesværdigt: 7, 8.1 eller det kommende 10? - Skal jeg vente, til 10'eren kommer på markedet?
- Skal mit tilsluttede keyboard være med usb udgang, eller kan jeg stadig bruge DIN-stik forbundet med EDIROL?
- Jeg har endnu ikke kunnet optage auditivt (med mikrofon), selvom jeg har prøvet at tilslutte mikrofon - og iøvrigt har fulgt den procedure, som du beskriver i din video. Det er måske programmet, der ikke fungerer ordentligt?

Angående computer: Band-in-a-Box kører ganske udmærket på Windows 8.1. - også 64 bit, så der er ingen grund til at vente. Dog tror jeg det er klogt at vente til du har fået din nye PC.
Dit keyboard kan stadig sagtens være tilsluttet dit Edirol USB MIDI interface. Iøvrigt er det ikke et din stik men et MIDI kabel, selvom det ser ligesådan ud. Jeg vil råde dig til at købe et nyt audiomodul, da Sound Blaser ikke rigtig egner sig til lydproduktion. Det er bedst at have et lydmodul med ASIO drivere og audiomoduler er iøvrigt blevet så billige at alle kan være med. Fx Steinberg UR 22 til under 1000 kr. er helt prof.
Hvad angår audio er det nok dit Sound Blaster.
Når du køber Band-in-a-Box 2015 er der rigtig meget nyt. Hvis du hurtigt vil ind i de nye funktioner, kan jeg, som du sikkert har set, tilbyde undervisning via Skype. Jeg tager 180 kr. i timen og den første time er gratis. Mange skal kun bruge få timer for at blive ført ajour.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
