There is a RealBand 2015 Build 7 update (Feb 19 2015)
http://www.pgmusic.com/support.realband.htm#2015_7

This patch will update RealBand Version 2015 to Build 7 from any previous 2015 build. It must be installed into your existing RealBand 2015 folder.

Summary of Changes (Feb 19, 2015) since Build 6

  • Access violation in the Tracks window which could occur if track heights were changed.
  • Access violation if you clicked on either the Tempo Percent or Transpose buttons and then entered text and pressed return.

  • Fixed: Delete key in Audio Edit Window would always delete all both channels.
  • Fixed: Moving a section of audio in tracks win would sometimes still create extra nodes.
  • Fixed: Render – Merge Audio Tracks to WMA would show wrong strings in dialog, and would cause RB to freeze next time dialog is executed.
  • Fixed: Select and Generate UserTracks didn't work from either the Main Menu or the Generate button. It only worked from Tracks Window right click.

  • Added: - Localization support.
  • Fixed: - Loops dialog was sometimes showing a division by zero message when adding certain loop.
  • Fixed: - Some acid loops were not being read properly.
  • Fixed: - Some acid loops were not being recognized.

  • Fixed: Hotkeys not restored properly after entering a value in the pitch transpose or tempo adjust.
  • Fixed: Added warning, when exiting MIDI Devices dialog or Audio Drivers dialog, if default sample rate for MME differs from song sample rate.
  • Fixed: Added Acidize This Wav file command to the Render menu.
  • Fixed: Elastique ASIO error when ASIO buffer size in sample frames was great than 1024.
  • Fixed: Select and Generate User Track on main menu and Generate popup menu both launched the Pick a Loop dialog.

Ooops, it fixed all of the problems that I had at the time. But now that I can use Realband again, I made a song that uses tempo changes (percentages for part of it and an actual number in another part) and when I try to render, it gives me an access error and freezes the rendering process - thus making me force close the program.

The song also has style changes, but I noticed your patch had addressed tempo changes in a different part of the process, so I wondered if I might being seeing a related issue albeit downstream?

Not sure what you mean by a song that has tempo changes with "percentages for part of it". A tempo change in the song is an actual number. The tempo map only has actual numbers.

I just tried rendering a song with tempo changes and it didn't seem to have any problems.

Thanks for your reply Jeff.

I was referring to the option (at any bar) in BIAB to change the tempo either by a percentage or by simply typing the tempo you want.

I actually solved my above problem by first rendering all of my BIAB tracks to wave files. Then opening the song in RealBand file and deleting all of the band in a box tracks. Then I imported all the wave files. From there it rendered fine.

Thanks again,

Hi Jeff,

Still awaiting for the resolution of the accidental changes to Auditioning Patches using the Classic Tracks window where the + and - keys do not now change the patches in succession. This was the subject of an Email to Support which I understood was passed on to Development for solution. The latset PTW 2015 operates correctly, I understand.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
