This is a song I wrote about 3 1/2 years ago. I just got the new version of Sonar X3 (I usually do most of my work in Logic Pro X) and thought I would re-record this song, as it fits where I am in my life today. Had fun re-learning Sonar. All the instruments are Realtracks/Realdrums. Hope you enjoy it!

Here are the RT's/RD's used...

Believe
Words and music, copyright Stephen W. Young

Somewhere in the middle
Of a broken life
There's a light to remind you
It's gonna be alright
When your whole world is spinning round
Plant your feet on solid ground
And believe

I believe in the goodness
Of a little child
And I believe in the sweetness
Of a little girl's smile
And I believe that anything is possible
With a loving God
And a heart that's full
When your whole world is spinning round
Just plant your feet on solid ground
And believe

When my whole world is spinning round
I plant my feet on solid ground
And I believe
I believe

Hi Steve,

This is another cool production. The audio quality is outstanding as for brightness of the mix (Ozone?)
One little nit: we detect a slight dissonance in the intro of the song. Was this intended?
As always the vocals are beautiful especially on the harmony parts.

Really nice. Great song and a great message. Interestingly, I wrote a song back in the 80's using nearly the same intro but my chord progression into the song was much different than yours. I really like what you have going on with this one.

YES! Embrace the positive.
Absolutely beautiful - the write,
the vocal, the choice of RT's
and the mix which presents
a gorgeous soundstage.

It now resides on our
SoundCloud playlist.

We really enjoyed it.

As usual, an uplifting and affirming song. Great vocals, and a sound that's a bit like heaven. The guitar solos are perfect.

I especially liked what you did on harmony of "ground" at 3:40.

It's got a bit more bass than I'd like, but hey - nitters got to nit! wink

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Steve,

You know I' a fan to!
This is another fine production.
Love the solo's indeed.
The intro made me frown, but in the whole of the song, and after a second listen, it fell into place.

Steve,

Beautiful, as always.

Top-notch everything... as always.

One of your best writes, I think (and they are all good).

I like the use of the repetitive acoustic figure (particularly at the end).

Hey Steve.
Odd chord selection on intro but it works well.
I don't think you have ever written a bad song.

I believe smile this is another great write Rob.

Really sweet!! Inspired profound lyric. The RTs could not have worked better if you'd hired the musicians specifically for the track. Solos are perfect, as is the acoustic gtr. Flawless! Take care. Greg
