Hello fellow forum members,

Here is our new song:

Was I the One

The initial writing of Was I the One took place in my early 20s. I had just learned the fingerpicking technique on guitar (used in songs like: Dust in the Wind, Kathy's song etc.) and I wrote a song with my newly mastered technique. I never recorded it because I thought it was too boring. Which it was actually, until some six months ago.....I ran the acapella vocal through the online Ujam creator. Similar to songsmith the program automatically recognizes the chords and creates an arrangement with it. The interpretation of the chords was much more lively than the original. And so I came to use BIAB for further developing of this improved 'rock version'.
Finally we managed to trick a young hot model for the video cool .

Hope you like it! Any comments are welcome.

Rob

Lyrics:

Was I the one to play out on the night
Where nothing really matters
Nothing ever could, yeah
And was a feeling, a lonely feeling a sign
A night stands still
A night for all men

Can see through my own eyes
And I just can't forget
Nothing you said, was of use
Nothing you showed, was for real

Hidden ways you move like someone else
Can you read my mind?
Can you tell my fears?
A love's embrace it's easy to fake
It crossed your mind
Such a cold heart I find

CHORUS

Seem right back from a lonely journey home
Can't seem to rise, can't seem to fall
And even a thought I don't reveal
When it seems so right, while it feels so wrong

CHORUS

This one came out really nice both in song and video. I particularly enjoyed the vocal backing and harmony parts. These backing parts fit the song structure and to me, had they not been there, the song would not have sounded complete. Your performance and production skills shine on this one. So does your creativity with you going out of the norm and using your studio equipment and software to breath life into what you thought was a boring song.

Enjoyed this one a lot.

Rob and Anne-Marie,

Great sound! So very cohesive. A real pleasure to listen to...
This is very much "your sound" - brought to its peak. Marvelous.

A beautiful mix! Everything in perfect harmony.

Where did the footage for the video come from? The video is professional looking start to finish. The best I've seen here.

Excellent from every angle.

Spectacular.

Rob and Anne-Marie,
I am not a video watching guy. I love the vinyl on the turning table, the lyrics in hand and the wine in the other hand.
Your song is the strongest yet I've heard from you. High volume recommended , high pop DNA.
Production is perfect, all vocals top!

You could (and should imho) aim further

Fred

We are running dry on accolades. The quality of
this production, audio and video, sets the bar
in the stratosphere. We know a lot of work goes
into these productions and we appreciate every
minute of it.

The soundstage is awesome --
everything just sits where it should be, i.e., nothing
is stepping on anything. No muddy sounds
anywhere in the EQ spectrum. Just incredible
clarity...and that guitar just SOARS. Throw in
a fine write and awesome vocals and you get
a production that can hold it's own with any
thing the big folks are putting out.

Hi Charlie,

Thank you so much, especially because you appreciate my "atmosphere pad". It's sometimes very disagreeable to sing the backing, even more when it's just aaaah's. Nice to read it really added something!

Another gem!! Arrangement is flawless (perfect use of "the band"), great vocals, BGs are amazing. If PG music were to post a demo of what can be done with this program, this could be it. Great work!! Take care. Greg

Rob and Anne-Marie, this is a superb track. Great build, fantastic melody, absolutely superb vocals throughout. All topped off with a remarkable video clip to stitch everything together into a very professional result.

Listened several times. Each time just got better and better.

Great effort!

Best
Trevor

Hi Rob and Anne-Marie,

A wonderful piece of stadium rock. The solo was very "Starship" - loved it.

Terrific work on the vocals and BVs.

Great mix and a really good use of reverb which blended everything together nicely.

Listening whilst watching the video simply enhanced the experience. All very professional.

ROG.

Another excellent write.
A touch of early Elton John in the chorus.
Great story.
It doesn't cease to amaze me of the talent that's on this forum.
If was writing for the prize at the end of the year and I'm not.
There would be too much competition.
Good stuff.
Rob.

R & AM, The vocals are simply outstanding on this one. The chord progression works really well. Arena Rock with a fabulous arrangement. Another fine production. Tom
