Excellent song, arrangement, and performance. The mix is perfect.

Noel,

I almost missed this one. I've been out of touch too much the past few months. So glad I heard this today!
This is classic "Noel" - every lyric fits in place, and the progressions are spot on. Really good job on the arrangement, and your harmonies really shine on this one!

Really enjoyed it!

Steve

What he said!

The opening piano draws you in and the energetic and interesting song throughout makes you stay. Excellent Fx on that acoustic guitar, smooth.

Really enjoyed it.

Seriously.... writing while doing some other "mindless" activity is a great way to "get out of your own way" - and write a very SINGABLE song... (careful in the truck, though).

Noel - I enjoy your PG song blogs!!!

Hey floyd,

I'm embarrassed.... This post of yours slipped past me for some reason!!! I wasn't even mowing the lawn at the time!

Sometimes words and/or music do come to me when I'm driving along. It's not all that often, though. Driving a Mazda 3 rather than an F-150 probably doesn't help. In addition, when I'm working on a song, I change the words and the music around so many times that I lose the ability to keep the latest creations in my head. For what it's worth, Craig Bickhardt once told me that he likes to work on lyrics when he's swimming. For Cynthia Weill ("You've Lost That Loving Feeling", a co-write with husband Barry Mann), similar to you, she works on lyrics while driving. I remember reading that she even goes driving so that she can purposefully stimulate lyrics. Seems that your theory is in good company!

If I ever get the chance to drive an F-150, I'll let you know if creativity came along for the ride!

Noel

Concerning your last song, Walk with me, what I generally like in a song (variety, jazz, etc., no matter) is the harmony ; I particulary appreciate the chord ...mb5, that we call in France "diminué", (I don't know how to say in english), this chord is used on the "two", isn't it ?

I know a journey just for two

that gives a bluesy taste to your song, I like it

Bonjour PRADON,

Thank you for having a look at my videos and for listening to my songs. If you want to see some really great videos, have a look at the Youtube channel of RnAM. Anne-Marie puts together some amazing visuals!!! She and her partner post some terrific songs in this forum.

You have very well-tuned ears! The chord on 'two' is a diminished chord (mb5). Diminished chords are not used all that often these days. They're great to keep in mind, though, whenever you're after something a little bit different.

Once again, thank you for taking time to listen to my music and to write a comment. I appreciate it.

All the best,
Noel

Thanks for listening Rob. I appreciate it. Now if only I had the Elvis edge that you've got...

Hi Scott.

Thank you for dropping by. I appreciate your thoughts. Band in a Box makes designing songs incredibly easy. I've never enjoyed making music as much as I do these days.

Noel

Exactly what Steve said!

Noel you are outstanding at composing and singing songs in this genre. Please never stop.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

Thanks, Mario. I always smile when I see your name pop up in a thread. I appreciate the vote of support. I'm still not sure that anyone would class me as a singer if they heard me sing live! I'm a huge supporter of what technology makes possible.

All the best to you and Linda,
Noel

Hey Dani!

Thank you for taking time out and for having a listen. I appreciate it. I don't think that I'd go so far as to call this a 'masterpiece'! Thanks for the compliment, though. Glad you liked it.

Has the warm weather come along to Helsinki yet? We're heading into winter here. Mind you, winter in Melbourne is still an awful lot warmer than winter in Finland!

All the best,
Noel

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
