Noel suggested I post this in a separate thread. It's just my modest attempt at his great song. Hope you enjoy it.

One could not ask for more. This is a perfect match of excellent writing and vocals. Great production and interpretation.

Thanks for doing this for Noel and posting so the rest of us can enjoy.

Hello Bob,

I like the melody, but you don't indicate which tracks were recorded by you, and which tracks were generated by Band-in-a-Box or RealBand, specially the beautiful strings.

Y'all outghta be proud of this.
A great interpretation of a great song.

Modest? Maybe from your perspective
but the outcome is far from modest.

We both enjoyed it -- a lot.

Thanks for listening and the kind remarks.

PRADON - Everything is BIAB, except for the orchestration, which was sequenced in Sonar with Dimension Pro and Aria.

I had to go back and find the original and have a listen.

This was and is a great song. Both versions deliver a memorable performance. I like both versions.

The piano & strings based second version add a new dimension to the song. Which one's better? Well, I'd hate to be the judge on THAT panel.

Well done.

Less we forget comments from the original post of this great song and the thought of it being a 'good match' for Bob to sing, in the words of Floyd Jane;

Beautifully done!! This version is more polished and radio ready. Vocals and strings are really nice. But, I always love hearing songwriters doing their own songs too. So, glad I had the chance to listen to both! Take care. Greg

Hi Bob. What a great version. Wonderful vocal. Noel must be so pleased (I know I have been so delighted with other singer's interpretation of my songs). Lovely, lovely, lovely.

Bob (and Noel),

I remember this one from before. Like Herb, I like both versions. That's a testimony to a very well written song! But Bob, I really LIKE the character of your voice. The sincerity of the lyrics really come through with your performance. Good job!

WOW Bob, what a great arrangement and vocal. I love all the little touches and instruments you weaved in and out with the orchestra and the big dramatic drum flourishes. If I were Noel, I know I'd have a big smile on my face. (Kind of fun to cover another former member's song huh? LOL! That's for teasing about the one I did for Charlie last year. wink grin )

Beautifully done. Kudos to Noel too for writing such a super big ballad.

That's excellent! The vocal sound is superb. Whatever gear/setting/chain you're using, it's as professional sounding as anything out there.

Your vocal performance is top notch.

Bob,

Both Josie's are correct.

I'm 1,000% incredibly impressed with what you've brought to this song. I didn't know it could sound so good. Even though I wrote it, that first time I heard what you had done with it, it was like listening to a whole new song. Your honest and sincere performance awoke memories within me that I'd forgotten long ago. I cannot thank you enough for creating such a fine version of "Brighter Than Any Star".

I'm still playing it regularly.

Thank you smile

All the best to you and Penny,
Noel
