Hello, Everybody, 初音ミク (Miku Hatsune) is a vocaloid, a virtual singer. She is very famous in Japan, thousands of songs have been made for her by many music lovers every year. She was first developed as a Windows Application. Recent year, also Mackintosh version is available. So, I tried to write a couple of songs for her. I would like to introduce you a Euro Beat song of them. Title: 罠 (Translation: Trap) Style is TEK_ARP.STY Style Instruments are : Moog Bass (39), Bright Piano (2), Harp (47), Pad Sweep (96), MIDI Drums :26 Drum Machine (26) Vst instruments as Kontakt, etc replace them all. Shigeki Adachi, Hatsune Miku is magnificent! No wonder she has been so popular with songwriters. I compliment you on your song, too. It's very entertaining. I can't believe that everything is midi. You've done a spectacular job creating this music and mixing it. I'm going back for another listen, now! All the best, Noel

Hi Shigeki,
I like your style and I love the chord progression. Miku sounds better in Japanese than in English. Can't say which version I like better. They are totally different. Tend to the real vocal version. Very enjoyable listen.

I liked the song and I also found the virtual singer to be quite enjoyable. This is a very nice mix, arrangement and production.

A very enjoyable song with the best artificial vocalist that I have ever heard.
Your work with MIDI is also excellent as are your mixing skills.
I have no idea what 'she' is singing but it all sounds good to me!
Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up. Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Shigeki,
The vocaloid version is excellent! Difficult to believe she is not real.
the real vocals version sounds so different, almost a different song! but both are wonderful.
Everything about both songs is beautiful, well done!

Both versions are very well put together!! Nice music. The vocaloid is quite natural. As an old school guy, I like the second version better. It is also more rock, less electronic which is my style. Nice stuff!! Take care. Greg

Hello, Noel, Guenter, Charlie, MarioD, Alyn, Janice & Bud, Greg, David, Rob and Anne-Marie and everybody, Thank you very much for your warm comments every time. I am really happy that you all enjoyed my vocaloid song. And also real vocal version. I was very encouraged by your comments.
David, I listened your beautiful vocaloid song, “The Gates Of Babylon” sung by Avanna and YOHIOloid on your Soundcloud page. I was very surprised by the big difference of Miku and Avanna. I feel that Avanna and YOHIOloid sound much nearer to human voice.
Rob, A real vocal version was almost made by RealTracks. Hammond Organ on A part and Harpsichord on B part added are MIDI.
Thank you
Shigeki Adachi

I feel that Avanna and YOHIOloid sound much nearer to human voice. Thanks for the kind words! I'm very impressed by Avanna - a lot of the original singer's personality comes through, and she's very pleasant to listen to. I'm not quite as happy with YOHIOloid - english is clearly not his first language, so it can be a bit difficult to get words to sound right. I've resorted to using vowels from Avanna in places, although that's hard to do seamlessly.

Love the songs! How do you get something like Vocaloid to work with Band In A Box? That's exactly what I'm looking for because I can't sing, don't know anyone who sings or would sing, and can't afford to pay someone to do it especially while I'm just learning (it's just for personal use while I'm learning, later, once I learn I will do something more professional with music).

The very instant the song started I was reminded of a popular 80's composer, Giorgio Moroder. If that name rings no bells, you should check out "Never Ending Story", the opening of that tune has a very similar style & feel to this one. I also thought the arrangement choice here is very clever for it suits the device to a T!
Impressive work.

Hello, Pradon, Rebecca0630 and Icelander, Thank you very much for your warm comments. Rebecca0630, I’m a user of Band In A Box Macintosh version. BIAB Mac ver. cannot work directly with Vocaloid. There may be a couple of ways to let Vocaloid sing with tracks generated by BIAB. My method is as follows. I have used Cubase as a DAW application for years. And I have been using “VOCALOID Editor for Cubase” to let Vocaloid sing. “VOCALOID Editor for Cubase” is a vst plug-in application If a Band-in-a-Box (MIDI) style have been chosen, convert the songs generated to a standard MIDI file first. If a Real Track style chosen, convert the song to audio (WAV) file. Read those files into Cubase and input melody notes and lyrics to “VOCALOID Editor for Cubase” And you can make a vocaloid song. Sorry, I can’t describe the entire method well with my poor English. Details can be found at following link. http://www.vocaloid.com/en/lineup/vocaloid4/v4editor.htmlIcelander, I know Giorgio Moroder, because "Never Ending Story" was a big hit also in Japan. Than you, Shigeki Adachi

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
