Thanks for listening and commenting Rob. I am a product of the 60's/70's era musically. I certainly find a comparison to John Lennon very flattering. Thanks! I'm really enjoying the diversity of songs you're posting. Your vocals are uniformly excellent! Take care. Greg

Hi Greg, I've listened to this song quite a few times now. It just keeps getting better and better. As everyone has said, either explicitly or implicitly, this is OUTSTANDING! It's an incredibly inventive way of using AABA form and modifying it to do the job it needs to. I especially like the back end of each A-section (from the 5th line of lyrics onwards). Melodically, harmonically, rhythmically and lyrically these sub-sections cascade with musicality and creativity and weave some wonderful musical magic. To my ears, it's like the first four lines of lyrics in the A-sections set the stage and, from line 5 on, the main act takes over and dazzles with brilliance. I really admire how you've achieved this lyrical and musical contrast through structure. Incredible! Ok... it's time for another listen! All the best, Noel P.S. When it comes to mixing, floyd is one of the forum's best. Every time I listen to one of his songs, I'm left with the feeling that there's so much I still need to learn when it comes to mixing. In my opinion, you'll never go wrong listening to floyd's advice.

Can't knock this one or at least not much, the lyrics are superb and well written regardless of the writing formulae, the fit and that's what matters. The music and the harmony of the backing singers is great and just loved the sax instrumental, the only minor criticism is that I thought the out throw was a tad too long, so I agree with the drum at the end suggested, and shortened down a little. and no in my sound system the drums weren't too loud or heavy, just right for the song and the feel of it.

Hi Greg. I am late to this party so it has all already been said. But I must tell you how much I enjoyed the vocal (I guess I am a vocal kind of person). Great write. Well done Greg.
PS.Is that you singing the background vocals as well?

Thanks Jeff. Very much appreciate your nice comments. Have to give a lot of credit for the mix to Floyd Jane. It was quite a mess when I first sent him an MP3 but he ID'd the problems for me which made a huge difference. Take care. Greg

nice song, harmony and vocal. More I listen and more I like it. I would have liked a guitar solo at the end but it's also good with the sax

Loving it here. Beautiful song and arrangement. Someone else mentioned the laid back CA vibe and I agree. Lots of depth in the mix and a spot on ending imho. Love those harmonies.
Terrific Greg.

The part of this that grabbed me was the lyric writing in the choruses. Word smithery at it's finest.
Very much appreciate that feedback Herb. I know you are one of the most active listeners on the forum, and a compliment like that from you is huge in my book! Take care. Greg

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
