A Dutch song this time, which describes the beauty of the region Westerwolde (= West Woods), where I live.
It is famous because of the "river" Ruiten Aa, which actually is a stream or creek.
The video (most shots were made by us) shows it all, so I didn't translate the lyrics.

WESTERWOLDE

For those who would like to see or learn more about Westerwolde check out Westerwolde environment. It's a site for people who are looking for accommodation in Westerwolde. But on this page you can also see a video and several pictures. If you scroll down you'll see the word "Onstwedde", that's where I live.
Click on the video "Nice Westerwolde" and you'll get an idea of the beauty of Westerwolde.
You will see some locations that are also shown in our video which, by the way, also features the so called "Theatre of Nature". It is famous because of the poems carved in the staircase.

I used Albeniz' Capricho Catalan as a basis for the music.

Hi Rob & Anne-Marie.

Really nice track which, as you said, doesn't need a translation to get across how beautiful the area is.

Some great footage in the video, but my favourite has to be the time-lapse shot of the stars moving across the sky. That was just magical. Some of the shots had a bit of camera shake and I wondered if you were shooting hand-held or with a tripod? Some really good transitions and over-lays though.

A good production.

ROG.

wonderful song and video. It didn't seem to matter that I didn't understand the words, the vocal sounds made a beautiful melody that captured the video message. Excellent job and great production.

I will +1 c_fogle's "Wonderful". Great description. I enjoyed all the unusually shifts in phrasing. I started counting in 2/2 to give myself a point of reference. I am glad to hear BIAB accommodate. Your harmonies and vocals were spot on. So glad I got to hear this.

Hi Rob & Anne-Marie,

very nice musical and visual description of
the place where you live. Outstanding vocals and bgv.
No translation needed.
I would have refrained from some visual effects like
that soaring bird. They spoil the silent landscape a little.

Very pretty song R and AM, and some pretty images to boot!! Looks like an incredible place. I live on flat farmland in the California central valley-hardly competes with the kind of beauty you're surrounded by. Great job on everything. Thanks for posting. Take care. Greg

Hi Rog,

Thank you for your nice comment.
Some of the shots were made hand-held, others with a tripod. The owls at the end for instance, were born in a tree next to my house. Every now and then I ran inside to pick up my camera, ran back and captured them, no time to use a tripod. That also goes for some other shots.
The time-lapse shot of the stars wasn't made by me, but I downloaded it from a site where you can find royalty free footage.

Hi Patrick,

Thank you for your nice comment.
The shifts in phrasing are the result of the fact that I used a classical piece of music (Albeniz' Capricho Catalan) and did a lot of editing in BiaB. I like to use classical music and turn it into a popsong.

Rob and Anne Marie,

BEAUTIFUL.
The video reminded me of the lovely walks I took when I stayed in Bussum.

Thank you for that, you certainly know how to produce masterpieces.

I am going back for another listen and watch.

Wonderful

R& A-M, Lovely song and I really enjoyed seeing the great natural beauty of where you live. I like how you are taking classical melodies into the pop realm. Nicely done. Tom

Wow! One can drive 100km south of our town into the
"coastal plain" and see topography that looks so similar
to that. We are on higher ground with sandy ridges, etc.,
but I spent most of childhood in the lower land. Love
the owls - we have them on our property.

This worked so well that the song was over before I
even contemplated what the lyric might be. The wonderful
melody and the visuals were all that we needed
to enjoy a very nice production. Standout vocals
and acoustic guitars also.

Thanks for the chance to listen and look.

Hi, Rob and Anne-Marie !

What a sweet and lovely
song and pictures of your
beautiful country !

You know, I had the pleasure
of visiting Baarn when attending
a conference there many years ago !
The conference venue was at an old
castle, I don´t remember the name of
any more, but we had really fun
as you can hear from this little
snappssong I wrote back then to
the melody of Tulips from Amsterdam
(to entertain the guests at the dinner)!!!

Super song and video Rob and Ann Marie. Nice melodic tune and the video adds a whole new dimension to it. Very good production.

Video reminds me of places near where I live as well, all the greenery, helps to create a nice stress free zone to escape to.

Great video what software program do you use to edit?

Super job all round.

User Tip: How to add drum fills without changing any other tracks

MarioD has shared some great advice when it comes to adding drum fills without changing any other tracks in your song:

There have been a number of questions asking how to add drum fills without changing any other tracks in a song. This is especially important if one is holding a chord for a few measures and wants to add a drum fill prior to the next chord. The following is how to accomplish that:

1-get the instruments/tracks to play like you want but don't worry about the drums for now.
2-generate the song.
3-freeze all tracks
4-unfreeze the drum track
5-add your fills where you want them
6-generated the song again - note this will only generate the drum track and not the frozen tracks
7- when you get the drums like you want them freeze the track
