Nicely played. Good lift at around 3:00.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Nice sounding production. Would not have thought it was your first posting using BiaB if you had not said so. Like your guitar playing. Looking forward to hearing more tunes. Welcome to the forum!

Sweet tune and some hot playing, Torry. I kept waiting for Dave Pike to break into a vibe solo! grin
I'd be interested in some background - (guitar used/amp/effects/direct or mic'd, etc.)

Regards,

Bob

Welcome and what a super first post! Great guitar chops! Would you mind letting us know what kind of axe and how you recorded it? Thanx

I love smooth jazz and this fits right in perfectly. Perfect backing tracks for you lead work.

I agree.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Thanks so much for the kind words about the song. The guitar I used on this track is a Godin ACS SE USB. I ran it straight into my interface and into Presonus Studio One. I used Guitar Rig 4's compression and eq. I also used one of the stock reverbs that Presonus includes with their software. I put a backing track together on BIAB using every available track and sent the tracks individually to Studio One as a wave file and kept them on separate tracks adding some compression and eq there. I also recorded 3 other synth parts there and added some hand claps and a couple of other sound effects then mixed it all down adding some final compression to the master tracks. I spent the better part of a weekend from beginning to end on this song. Thanks for your interest. This was the first song of what will hopefully be an album full of similar type songs.

Thanks for the positive vibes (no pun intended). I have just posted some more info about what I did to record this tune.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
