changed from 44Aceman to 44kfl, Aceman was just copied over from following Adam Carolla/daily podcast/standup/TV host of Catch A Contractor/amateur race car driver/won both amateur and pro in back to back years/master carpenter/documentary maker/renaissance man/absolute genius/believes feeding your children will greatly reduce school pipeline to prison problem, though Huffington Post called him a racist for saying this/movie star/mechanic/visionary. Other than that I don't care that much about him.

Nothing Burns Like An Old Flame
© 2015 K Leverett 08/2015

Thought I saw you walking with your new man
Had to look away, it’s a thought that I can’t stand
Well I haven’t moved on, not really over you
And it’s a damned good bet that tomorrow I’ll still be blue

Last night I woke up to the sound of your name
Just to see you smiling back from a picture frame
Now you’re gone and I’m the one to blame
And nothing burns like an old flame

All is lost and nothing gained
Just an old familiar pain
Cause nothing burns like an old flame

In my carelessness I let you slip away
Never thinking of the price I’d have to pay
Now you’re gone and I’m the one to blame
And nothing burns like an old flame

All is lost and nothing gained
Just an old familiar pain
Cause nothing burns like an old flame
Nothing burns like an old flame

I enjoyed listening to this song; simple but effective arrangement and lyrics that anyone can connect with(!)

Good vocal, emotive, and I liked the RT steel guitar break.

Only suggestion might be more assertive background vocals with some higher harmonies. All told, excellent production!

Kenny,

This is cool. Nice find on the Band. I don't recall anyone using it - boy, it sounds good!

Sounds very Springsteen to me - some your other stuff does, too as I recall... plus, I've been listening to Born To Run all day... So, I kind of wanted the snare to be hitting a little harder(a lot, actually). And a stinging telecaster lead instead of the steel (but only because I've had that in my head all day).

Listened 3 times in a row. Enjoyed them all... I hope you hand around for a long time... I dig your stuff... it's refreshing... well written and well produced.

Very nice sounding song. Reminds me of the Mavricks. A+ on the quality of the production!

Tones of Tom Petty and The Eagles.
Nicely mixed. Great tune.

Great song. The choice of Real Tracks were spot on for this song. Like others have said, I'm really enjoying your submissions here on the forum. You bring a lot to the table.

Really nice! Great title, sort of a J.D. Souther feel.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Hey thanks for listening and commenting. I always struggle with the harmonies and usually give up at some point and tell myself it's just a demo. At 61 I'm not likely to be out and performing these, I wish I knew a 20-30 something yr. old yahoo who I could write for without him turning up his nose at me! Anyway I could do better and posting here encourages me to try, so thanks.

My favorite lines too! It's like you know me! My fellow favorite Georgia musicians, It implies that I was dreaming! I'm surprised that I even know what "implies" means.

Thanks for listening and commenting,

Thanks floyd
You're a real fan of music, I love that, I listen all the time I can at work, there's a world of stuff that I never got to hear before on locations like Spotify. It's funny I was doing my best Springsteen imitation writing and singing over 30 something years ago. I actually think I'm better at it now, though I don't consciencely (sic) think of him. I really caught on to him at Darkness On The Edge Of Town album. Adam Raised A Cain made the hair on my neck stand up! I was washed in the revival meeting glory! the title song was so different and dark, saw them perform in Austin, TX. right after this came out, they did Candy's Room note for note, I couldn't believe anyone could pull that off live.
I think the first time it really hit me was just reading the lines
The screen door slams, Mary's dress waves, like a vision she dances across the porch as the radio plays, Roy Orbison singing for the lonely... I'm still in awe, this is how you write a song!
Dylan was a machine gun, every line painting something different, like a Piccaso or something. Springsteen makes movies and even stage plays. And now we have Jason Isbell, so much talent and promise. Sorry for the rambling, you're very talented and very kind with your comments. I believe that we share a passion for a wide range of music.

Thanks for the listen and comments. Well I thought 44Aceman sounded like a braggert or something, like maybe I thought I was hot sh*t.
I'm not, I'm very quiet and shy, also very lazy, I was just usuing the same nickname on different sites, first person I think I ever commented and sent something to was Adam Carolla, (the Aceman) the comic/podcast guy and made it easy to remember form site to site. I'm a little more knowledgeable now, though not much!
I also enjoy your music!

Kenny, I really liked this one!

Everything has been said but I will repeat some of them; Great vocal, super backing tracks and some outstanding lyrics!

You should be very proud of this one!

Really like this one Kenny!! Very simple, and kind of retro but there's an emotion that just works, as with all of your stuff. Reminds me a bit of Jude Cole. Very cool and infectious song!! Take care. Greg

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
