Stormy Clouds

Hi all,

I downloaded the stems of this song on May 30th.
http://www.remixcomps.com/contest/lendi-vexer-remix-contest
As it consisted of only two chords I totally reharmonized it and gathered suitable RealTracks.
And then came the hottest summer since beginning of weather records! I spent most of the time outdoors. There was no chance for musical activities.
Fortunately I had chosen a contest with deadline on August 31st. So I wasn’t in a rush and could enjoy the beautiful weather.
Now the deadline is coming near and the weather gives me a break to complete what I started.
Here it is:

Hi Guenter,

Your version gives a very interesting spin to the basic song.
Once again you proved that remixing really is your thing!
A big compliment for choosing the Country Brent Soloist, we love this RT.

Your remix really transforms the material into something a bit more than a remix!
Nicely done - sounds great!

Guenter,
I got lost in that track on 1st listen because it is so beautiful.
Again you have done a spectacular job, you are the mix king!

Natalie's voice complements your remix rather than the other way round grin

brilliant

Guenter,

It is always amazing how you transform these - to an entirely new place. There are some nice entries... most sound much the same from one to the next - with a few interesting bits here and there...

Yeo Sky - different, interesting...
Zewr - Devo-like...kind of cool...
Anthead - nice
I like what XXIPAHA did adding guitars...and the organ - had a Traffic feel..
Candy Garage - nice
UBM Music - some nice parts
Fragile X - interesting
Frederic Delchambre - interesting

Your re-mix stands apart... seeming to consider the song (and vocal) the important part - while most others consider their music track all that matters.

The piano is especially nice. The mix itself is excellent. An interesting mix of RTs...

Well done throughout. I hope you "win" another.

Plus 1! I really liked that piano and the sound you drew out of it.

Amazing remix. I think you made the song better than the original mix.

XXIPAHA is my favourite. Very groovy. Good Solo. I listened till the end, what I can't do with most others.
Many don't even care if the chords fit the tune.

Thanks again for your support.

Guenter, even if Janice and I didn't "know" you from
this forum and if we heard a sampling of your remixes we
would feel the same. And that is that in every example
your version to our ears is more interesting and engaging
than the original and the other remixes.

And this one is certainly no exception. Like floyd we did
like the XXIPAHA version...I guess because we are both
traffic fans smile But ultimately we felt that your version best
complemented the outstanding vocal.

Congrats on another wonderful production!

I don't know how you do it Guenter. I listened to the original track and thought it was boring and pretty bad. I wondered how anyone could make anything good out of it. But your version is sweet!! It makes a simple melody sound so interesting with the chord changes and instruments you chose. To quote, "You're a wizard Harry". Great job Guenter. Amazing!! Take care. Greg
