Good song - fun video - played around with Muvizu myself - see it's been updated recently. Was always hoping they'd add more instruments and actions to make varied music videos (so impressed with the fiddle).

thanks Peter! I especially appreciate the observations from somebody who has used the same software!

It may be worth noting that the fiddle scene took about as much time as the whole rest of the video! Literally DAYS to create the 3D fiddle that the guy held in his hand as everybody else played!

And in order to animate it in other software, I had to recreate the character and background in 2D to make it look like it was still in the 3D environment. Quite the enjoyable little challenge!

Regarding MUVIZU, they are working on something now that they hope to release by the end of September... not sure what it might be, but they seem excited about it.

Great song and video, Congrats all round to Eddie and Pat.

Before you actually said it Pat I had guessed that the fiddle player looked like Floyd, I also thought Mario was in there too playing guitar at the left of video.

Fantastic job, and the characters look real lifelike.

THANK YOU! I was hoping somebody would get that! ;-)

Thanks musiclover! My original plan was to create a Mario character for rhythm guitar... he's one of the few who has a fairly close-up picture to work from. But when Eddie requested that I put myself in there somewhere, I had to make a decision.

My PC is borderline capable of being used for video, and I didn't want to add so many characters that I bogged it down. ;-)

Thanks for the kind review of the whole project, (audio and video)

Really fun song/video!! I'm not sure I've heard Eddie before. Really love the natural vocal delivery. Enjoyed very much, and good to see you back around Pat! Take care. Greg

And never one to be shy about selling myself, you can hear much more of my natural vocal delivery, Greg.

My sig file has a link to my Kickstarter campaign and for just 12 bucks you can get 48 minutes of my natural vocal delivery.

Shameless!!! SHAMELESS I tell you!!!!

I smashed the hell out of my car today. When the cops came I told him "Officer, that guy was BOTH texting and drinking a beer." The cop said "Sir, he has every right to do that. I mean, it's HIS living room..."

ah, don't apologize, even in jest Eddie... everybody here appreciates the value of grass roots music, whether they are in a position to pay for it or not.

Having heard the difference between the song you sent me that you might submit to the Merlefest song writing contest, and the way the same song sounded when you posted it to the forum, I can say that I'm looking forward to receiving my CD. Whatever he did made it sound golden to my ears!

And I also have to think that the version that ended up in this video... even apart from the guitar solo vs the pedal steel... was NOT the version your friend tweaked. How could it be if you changed the mix to add a guitar? So now I'm also looking forward to hearing the magic-ized version of the song in the video too!

PS.. I just went to your kickstarter page... 26 days to go and you are already pretty close to making your goal!

He polished and spit shined and made them all sound amazing,. I was listening today as I drove around doing errands and at one point I found myself saying "Man, I WROTE that?"

The version I sent you for the cartoon video was MY mix of that song. He had the raw track at his house doing the mastering. What you got, with the pedal steel out and the guitar solo in, was the last set of raw tracks I sent him.

Math tells me I need to move 6 more units just to lock in the finding (it's all or none) and between here and my Facebook people I should make it.

The ballad I want to submit to the contest.... I tell ya what! When you get the CD, it will be track 3, and it sounds amazing.

that's one of the songs Rog covered isn't it?

Oh, and don't shoot for "enough" to make your goal... get all your home boys chatting it up at their gigs and on their facebook pages... its all about the sizzle, and unless people hear the steak sizzle, it won't make them hungry for the CD

One of Rog's students, Jessie, did a version of it that was more pop and she did a great job on it. I haven't seen Rog in a while. Like several months. Anybody know if he is okay?

I have several things from his students and they were a very talented bunch. Now they have aged and moved on to college and such and he has a new bunch, including a really good female guitar player, but I haven't seen as much from him. I know he was CRAZY busy creating his instructional video series, and there were whole lot of those videos. I watched most of them and they were very well done and a very good teaching tool because he taught scales and such rather than the simpler "play this line" kind of approach. Learning music instead of songs has been one of my causes for years.

I love it when he took my song "Good Things Come" and his guys turned it into a Beach Boy feeling thing. 2 male singers traded verse and chorus and then everybody sang on the breaks. Fun stuff. And then after that, they wrote a surf song "Do It Again" that was a lot of fun to sing on.

Pat, The video is amazing but I'm pretty sure you don't want my heavy handed drumming style in your band. Eddie, Good luck with the CD. The song sounds great. I enjoyed the entire production immensely. Tom

LOL!
I created the Tommy Adams character because the song was supposed to include pedal steel... and of course the only forum member who knocks pedal steel out of the park is YOU!

But when we replaced the pedal steel with guitar, your character got demoted to drummer. Sorry. I really do feel kinda bad about that... ;-)

Bob, knowing that you are a pioneer on the forum , one of the first to use video with your songs.. and yours have always been so artsy and tasteful... I am especially appreciative that you took the time to watch and comment separately on the video! I value your opinion on the subject, and I appreciate that you shared it.

Just want to remind everybody that there are now just 19 days left to preorder my CD, "Saddle Sores". A 9 song collection of stories taken directly from my life. From broken hearts to car crashes to finding sobriety... it's all here! And for every dollar invested you get 4 minutes of music in return! The link is in my sig. Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
