Wow, what a song. Loved the lyrics, really loved the chord progression, the choir. Perfect.

DE,

I'm sincerely sorry. It slipped by me that you'd commented on my song. Life has been a bit hectic for me and I haven't been as attentive to the forum as I should have been. Thank you for taking time to have a listen. I very much appreciate it and I equally appreciate the positive feedback.

All the best,
Noel

P.S. I tried sending you a private message but was not successful.

I'm sorry I didn't comment on this the first time around, so I'm glad it's stuck on the charts.

Superb all around, but especially the rhyme structure. It's got all the marks of the top-flight work you do.

And yes - Miroslav really is a nice library. I remember when it first came out, some time ago - I figured that this sort of library was forever out of my price range. It's amazing what tools are available these days.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Hey Dani,

It's ALWAYS excellent to see you visit the forum. Thanks for taking time to give "Can You Imagine" a run through. I'm glad you like those background singers, they're Miroslav Philharmonik midi. It's truly amazing what electronics make possible these days!

Thinking of you as you head into winter. You'll be able to walk/skate between islands again soon. I honestly cannot imagine weather so cold that the sea freezes. 'Cold' for me is somewhere around +10 Celsius smile

All the best,
Noel

Hi David,

Thanks for dropping in and commenting.

You were the person who introduced me to Miroslav a few years ago through one of your compositions. I can't remember the name of the music now (ageing brain issue) but your arrangement used one of the most beautiful oboe sounds that I'd ever heard. Since then, I've been looking at getting Miroslav. When the price fell to $49, I couldn't let it pass.

Hope all is travelling well for you and your family.

All the best,
Noel

I've always loved the sound of the oboe. IMHO, it was the best sound of the EMU Orchestral Module. When I finally scraped enough money together for a used Roland S-50, the EMU oboe was the first instrument I sampled.

But I suspect that the oboe you heard came from the Garritan Personal Orchestra, which has some really nice woodwinds in it. I love the GPO flute as well.

Not that the Miroslav oboe isn't nice as well.

I'm really hoping PG puts out some ooh and aah RealTracks in the next release. The samples in most libraries (including Miroslav) aren't very "pop", and I'm too darned lazy to record them myself.

Thanks for asking, yes. I've been busy with the family (mostly music stuff) and trying to learn some new instruments. I miss being away from the forum, but hope to find more time next year.

I hope things are going well for you also!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
