Hi y'all,

Our new contribution:

NIGHT DRIVING

This is a co-write with Paddy Gobel who did the writing on the verses.
Rob wanted a BeeGees like backing vocal on this, not quite realizing I'm an alto.
He was kind of wondering if I could manage this......
I think I proved them wrong whistle
Co starring: the Electric, Funk James Finger RT.

Turn up the volume on this one, we could have cranked a little bit more volume on the general mix.

Style is BRITROK8.STY (Brit 60's Gritty R&R)

Lyrics:

Just put the grinding week behind me
I’m driving down this moon lit street
Left all the cares and... things that blind me
My heart is full and life is sweet
time to work my dancing ....feet oh yeah

Night driving, straight jiving
start movin' to the beat
soul's rising firmly now,
cause it's nothing that I never did before
it's nothing that we've never done be.....fore, allright

She's the rhythm to my body
When I’m cold she is my heat
And When we're dancin'.....movin' slowly
She's my heartbeat, she’s my aim
There's no one like her, she is my.... flame oh yeah

Night driving, straight jiving
start movin' to beat
soul's rising firmly now,
cause it's nothing that I never did before
it's nothing that we've never done before, allright

All rising, music jiving
keep moving to the beat
souls rising firmly now
cause it's nothing that we've never done before
nothing that we've never done before.

Hi R & A-M.

Super funky track. Love that bass line.

Chorus certainly had a BeeGees feel to it.

The guitar solo took me by surprise - I was rather expecting a synth solo, or maybe a sax, but the guitar certainly worked.

Cool video.

ROG.

Rob and Anne-Marie, another great tune. You guys sure know how to deliver. The style works so well, and I agree about the Bee-Gee's influence. Thoroughly enjoyed this one.

Very catchy - great vocals and the Bee Gee sound comes through.
Really liked the guitar break reminiscent of Stevie Ray Vaughan when he played for Bowie (Let's Dance).
Nice video as usual. Superb production.

How could I not like a song with the word "jiving" in the chorus?

Nice and funky! laugh

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Rob & Ann-Marie & Paddy,

A very cool sound to this. I was not aware there was an RD called CDiscoLadies... nice combination of instruments - nicely mixed.

The vocals are great!

Your videos are incredibly "pro looking"....

Hey Rob, Ann-Marie and Paddy!
Great beat! You guys did a great job on putting this song together. I enjoyed everything about it. It caught my attention at the very beginning and held me there throughout the song. I am a BeeGees fan and I am sure that if this song were heard by all their fans they would like it also. But that being said, it is your song and you should proud to have created it.

ooooooh yea - You got enough of the Bee Gee's vibe to know it's there but this still has all of the signature RnAM we've come to expect. Good production of the audio and video. Enjoyed my listen.

User Tip: How to add drum fills without changing any other tracks

MarioD has shared some great advice when it comes to adding drum fills without changing any other tracks in your song:

There have been a number of questions asking how to add drum fills without changing any other tracks in a song. This is especially important if one is holding a chord for a few measures and wants to add a drum fill prior to the next chord. The following is how to accomplish that:

1-get the instruments/tracks to play like you want but don't worry about the drums for now.
2-generate the song.
3-freeze all tracks
4-unfreeze the drum track
5-add your fills where you want them
6-generated the song again - note this will only generate the drum track and not the frozen tracks
7- when you get the drums like you want them freeze the track

Review - Band-in-a-Box® 2023 for Windows is Overflowing with Features!

"Band-in-a-Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is, without negative connotation, a monster of a program. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. No DAW can do some of the things BIAB does, while BIAB can do a lot that DAWs do."
