Let Me Live

Take this tear from my eye
Clear the view from this bridge

Burn down the field where I lie
And let me live.

Tell me the fight was worth it
the scars will be washed in the rain
Put in a good word for me
If you’re on heavens train

You laid down your life beside me
Fought till the very end
A soldier that never gave up
No you never gave in

Carry my hurt to be buried
Show me the sky once more
Clean the blood from my heart
let me live forevermore.

When we were young
We knew that life could hurt and it could kill
It will work out because it has to work out
and I guess it always will

Tell the children I loved them
Ask them to bury the pain
Tell my comrades I loved them
Sure was a good day.

Carry my hurt to be buried
Show me the sky once more
Clean the blood from my heart
let me live forevermore.

Very nice lead playing and you've done a good job with the instrumentation. I like that Bodhran in there. Good Memorial Day tune.

Tommy,

Nice song, and nice tribute for Memorial Day. Good job with the instrumentation, and good pickin'! Thanks for sharing this.
