Just a little song about the Bimini/Miami Rum-runners during Prohibition. Comments welcome. https://90dbband.bandcamp.com/track/smugglers-moonhttps://youtu.be/-ovGWcaVxWASmuggler's Moon ©2015 Robert Randall Burke Some are born to wealth Some to poverty You know a man can't grasp What he cannot see If all goes well I will see you soon Look for me Beneath the Smuggler's Moon. Another keeper, Bob.
Really nice combination of instruments. The dobro works great in this.
Nice write. Your usual outstanding vocal.
The orchestral touches are nice. The guitar lead is tasty! (and well recorded)
Excellent mix. Love the bass, too...

Yes, we definitely like this, melodic and very good vocals. Anne-Marie likes the drums (not pushy, she doesn't like those heavy kind of drums )

That's just a cool song and I'm not just saying that because you put a Charlie in there. Enjoyed my listen.

Great write there Bob. I liked the gentle nature of the melody.
Did I hear pizzicato from the Miroslav Philharmonik? Great touch
Fantastic vocal, and perfect mix.
Nice all around for sure.

Nice one Bob. Great imagery and the perfect vocal to deliver it. Made it easy to see the ship and the moon reflecting on the water.
The acoustic added just the right accent. Nice touch with the strings also -- just enough to add to the feel and not a bit more.
Excellent!

Very nice song Bob! You always have a good mix and the bass was the one thing that stood out (in a good way) in my ears. Smooth vocals and an interesting story. Enjoyed it all! Sonny

Tommy, Thanks for listening and the kind remarks. J&B, Thanks. Appreciate it. I've always been fascinated by the rum-runners. My grandfather lived through all of that in Miami. Everybody in town was making bathtub gin! Sonny, Thanks. I love that bass as well. All I had to do was hit “Generate”, and there it was! Rich, Thanks. Appreciate the listen and comments. Regards, Bob

Bob, what an excellent choice of instruments to make sure I got caught up in the feel. The acoustic solo added so much to the song. I really enjoyed that, made me want to take a walk along the cliff-tops, near where I live, until I saw the horizontal rain outside , so I'll play the song again, instead. Alyn

User Tip: How to add drum fills without changing any other tracks
MarioD has shared some great advice when it comes to adding drum fills without changing any other tracks in your song:
There have been a number of questions asking how to add drum fills without changing any other tracks in a song. This is especially important if one is holding a chord for a few measures and wants to add a drum fill prior to the next chord. The following is how to accomplish that:
1-get the instruments/tracks to play like you want but don't worry about the drums for now.
2-generate the song.
3-freeze all tracks
4-unfreeze the drum track
5-add your fills where you want them
6-generated the song again - note this will only generate the drum track and not the frozen tracks
7- when you get the drums like you want them freeze the track

Review - Band-in-a-Box® 2023 for Windows is Overflowing with Features!
Dennis posted his very thorough Band-in-a-Box® review recently, where he dives into some of the new features added with version 2023: Sound-Guy's Band-in-a-Box Review
Read his thoughts on the Download & Install Manager, partial track regeneration, Playable RealTracks, Audio Editing, the addition of SynthMaster, the VST DAW Plugin, and more!
"Band-in-a-Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is, without negative connotation, a monster of a program. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. No DAW can do some of the things BIAB does, while BIAB can do a lot that DAWs do."
