thank you Scott! we appreciate the listen and the great comments!

yes, BIAB and RB both have been great tools for me to use for writing the songs, getting a demo created and using for backing as I play and sing to create the final! I love it!

I look forward to using 2016 on my newest creation!

You should assume, and safely so!
As you noted, there is simply no alternative to the implication of the word 'IF' in that statement, but that there will be legitimate (iow, allowed) posts (yes, by PG CUSTOMERS) where BIAB or RealBand have NOT been used.

If PGMusic had different intentions, they would have changed that statement by now. But, that would be a bizarre choice...show me a comparable forum where dear CUSTOMERS would be so prohibited.

My workaround: if any feathers remain ruffled, just render your tune through a PG Music EQ plugin (if it's perfect now, just breathe on one of the "knobs") ...problem solved! cool

thank you so much! great tip! I will definitely remember that!

Good tune, good energy, good production!! Has that nice 70's rock feel. Vocals remind me a bit of Queen. Enjoyed the listen! Take care. Greg

Thank you Greg! Sean's voice is usually associated with Dennis DeYoung (Styx) but I'm sure he'll take Freddy too!

I like the tune and for one user certainly see the use of BIAB as a composing tool, I do it every day.

Also, I find that the use of certain BIAB tracks as a "bed" over which you lay your own tracks (even if Real Tracks are low in the mix) help render a sonic warmth and pocket to the sound you would not otherwise get--especially drums and bass.

But, great song! I really liked it!

HI Reece ...

we have a grandchild with a mild form of autism. We surely can relate to this song. The tracks are well-mixed and the balance is just right. Loved the strong vocals and the message, as well.

As far as the discussion on the appropriateness, this is our position:

People who have been dedicated members of the site and have been kind enough offered help and support to others regarding BIAB issues have earned the right to post here, regardless. But, that's just our take ... certainly not official from the PG Music folks.

What we do, if we've created song with a different software ... and we occasionally do ... we just add at least one BIAB track, usually strings, organ or something similar. It can be very soft or up front. For us, that removes any question of the song's validity on the forum. In a few days, we are going to post a Christmas instrumental we wrote on other software, then finished it out with BIAB strings.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas ...

Alan & Di

I've listened to this a few times and am amazed at the professional sound. The mix is excellent.

A friend, Jay, is a carer and, with 3 others, looks after autistic children at school and some weekends and we,and the gang as we call them, bump into each other in strange places!
I played this, on my pad, to them in a supermarket cafe a few days ago and got quite a response!!
The gang enjoyed it laugh

Well done.

Hi Alyn - thanks so much! this is actually Sean's first mix with our group. Mike and I are pretty experienced at mixing, but Sean is not and we helped him through the process, so he will be VERY pleased to hear you say his mix sounds professional!

i'm sure he will also be pleased to hear your story about sharing it with your friend and "gang!" thanks! that means a lot!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
