A song, about that moment when you realise you are in love.

Telephone

feel I have to tell you
I really want you to know
that if you are lonely darling
just let it show

I can do many things
brighten up your day
so if you are fed up baby
all you got to do is say

I cant stand to see you looking so sad and all alone
oh if I'm not around you honey
for gods sake telephone
I cant stand to see you looking so sad and all alone
oh if I'm not around you honey
for gods sake telephone

put on your blue dress
the one I like a lot
give me all your lovin
give me all you got

I tried to write a letter
my pen wont write my words
I want to say I love you
those three words you never heard

I cant stand to see you looking so sad and all alone
oh if I'm not around you honey
for gods sake use the phone
I cant stand to see you looking so sad and all alone
oh if I'm not around you honey
for gods sake use the phone
please telephone me

Cool song!! Really natural conversational lyric. I like the arrangement with the sparse instrumentation, and may I say, the "flab four" are at the top of their game in this one. Really nice tune!! Take care. Greg

Hi Alyn.

Fabulous.

A sort of acoustic love song in the punk style, if that makes sense?

Perhaps it's just the inimitable Alyn style.

It would have been good with just voice and guitar, but the BVs take it to another level.

A good start to the weekend. Have a good one yourself, my old Welsh pal.

Great song Alyn. I'm a pushover for acoustic music and this rolled me right over.

Brilliant arrangement that gives us everything with just vocals and guitar. Good progression too.

I really like this one.

Alan, Great melody and chord choices. Fantastic harmonies. Your own unique style is just so listenable and easy on the ears. The lyrics flow nicely and the acoustic instrumentation was a very good choice. you've done it again! Really good stuff. Tom

Alyn,

This is great! Although the song finished a while back, it's still strumming its way through my mind. The chorus is terrific... really well put together. That's an intriguing chord on "stand" - I like it a lot. I can't quite work it out in my head. I know that through trial and error I could find it on my keyboard but I'm setting myself the challenge of determining what it is purely by ear.

As always, you push those proverbial boxes (or envelopes)! The effect of using 3/4 Realtracks in 4/4 time is genius. It's a really interesting off-balance feel that's created and it works splendidly with this song.

I'm heading back for another listen now.

All the best,
Noel

P.S. I forgot to compliment the Flab Four - what a great group of backing singers smile Perfect choice!

A delightful listen! Alyn...

I'm liking your group harmonies!

This is really an answer or counterpart to Adele's "Hello"... isn't it..

Cool vocal on this. Heart-felt.

Hi Alyn,

Really nice song and cool vocals!
The Flab Four are great, you should ask them more often to do your BVs.

Thank you Greg,
I used to perform this just me and guitar so the sparse-ness was a given. I let BIAB do the pickin' intending to add me on 12-string but it sounded nice as it was.

glad you enjoyed

Never thought of Acoustic punk, nice genre laugh
I initially wanted the bvs to be like an orchestra, part of my Queen influences, but reduced the number of voices to a more manageable level LOL

It's a trifle damp here at the moment so it'll be a weekend cuddled up with BIAB wink

Hope all is good up north, and right a bit. I bet the stream close to you is at full flow!!
Happy Christmas to the family,

Alyn

I have many musical disguises and am so glad you got the roll out of rock and roll!! except there was no rock in this song.

What a great piece of entertainment!

This is a really catchy song. Great harmonies, and I especially liked the lines:
I tried to write a letter
my pen wont write my words

Hi Alyn,
Nice acoustic song. Your lyrics are well put together and the title is right to the point. Good job on everything including all of your vocals.

Acoustic guitar, a super vocal, some tasty harmonies and some outstanding lyrics, what's not to like about this one!

This really proves that less can be more! You have the perfect balance here.

This is my favorite one from you thus far.

Noel,

That chord was E7, in the key of C. The RT does make it sound more exotic tho'
Thanks re the flab four, I spent some time "orchestrating" their contribution.

Thanks for listening

Alyn. Love the acoustic treatment on this one and the layered voices in the chorus. I laughed because I realized that I hadn't really heard the term "telephone" in a loooong time.
