Hello all! I am back from the deep dark world of online streaming and promise to catch up on listening to all the new songs posted on the forum later today.

Are we doing the Christmas thing of posting public domain xmas songs again this year? If not I think we should, so here is the first one to get the ball rolling.

The beautiful pictures of all the baby animals were kindly provided by Ann Warner wildlife photography and as usual, all proceeds from the song are being donated to the Aware Trust who are the vets who go out tirelessly into the bush to help the wildlife in Zimbabwe.

Comments welcome and I look forward to hearing some more Christmas carols.

Good to hear from you again,

Good song with a wonderful message as usual.
Christmas spirit is lacking in my home town because today in the Xmas parade Joseph and Mary have to wear riding hats as they are led through town on little donkeys.

Hope you and your family have a good Christmas break

Alyn

Oh my goodness Alyn. That is hilarious. I hope you got a photo. Would love to see that! I didn't know Wales was a nanny state. Honestly!

Hi Josie
A beautiful interpretation of a CLASSIC Christmas Carol. I particularly enjoyed the alternating between the "East of the Atlantic" and "West of the Atlantic" tunes. Wish I'd thought of it!!lol!
I liked the choice of Style too - wonderfully laid back and suits your voice and singing style.
Happy Christmas
Ian

Hi Joanne,

nice to have you back.
I found a way to watch your videos although
they are blocked in Germany.
Very nice. Lovely harmonies.
A sax version of this song was posted here
in November by kindofblue.
Enjoyable listen/watch.

Really nice Joanne!! You have a great voice for this type of traditional song. The arrangement was the perfect backing. I love Christmas music. Have you heard Nat King Cole sing this one? He is my absolute favorite for Christmas song, although you provided him some steep competition!! Enjoyed much! Take care. Greg

Josie this was excellent. You are a fantastic singer. I bet that you could sing the names out of a phone book and it would sound great!

PS - It's nice to see you back!

Nicely done, Joanne...

The pictures are nice!

(I thought this would have worked without the drums track - the instruments and vocals were enough to carry it)

Hi Ian. Thanks for this. I am so glad you put your version of this wonderful song on the forum. I have to admit that the East/West tune idea came from Anne Murray's version of this song. People have been asking me to sing her songs and I came across her version of this song.

Hi Geunter. So glad you have found a way to view the videos! I always note your comments on the harmonies. You have such a fine ear. I went back and listened to kindofblue's sax version and also Ian's guitar version. So mice to have so many interpretations at the same time!

Hi Sonny. I am starting to find the styles of music that resonate with me and I think this style is probably where I feel most comfortable. Thanks for your nio=ce comments.

Ah Mario. You are too kind! It is nice to be back and I hope it is not too fleeting. I feel I am getting pulled in the "cover songs" direction and am thus spending less and less time on these wonderful forums.

Hey Floyd. I hadn't thought of leaving the drums off this one. I need to think outside the box a bit more. Thanks so much!

Hi Josie

What a truly elegant delivery

Clean, and with remarkable inversions in the melody and harmonies.

Again, a really superb presentation, with your own personal localization. Very nice touch.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
