EVOLUTION of a SONG using Band in a BOX:

This is a song I wrote a several years back on the acoustic . . .

I am a drummer by trade and it needed more than I could give it -

I used band in a box to fill out the pieces. I looked through the styles until I found the style that most closely resembled what I had written

_CMPFMF2.STY Fingerpick and Strum Ac Med

I added:

Drums: nashpopballad^09-sstchhk2,schhk2
Bass: 366
Cello: 1856
Viola: 2336

I then found after adding those, that guitar 364 and 368 worked better . . .

I envisioned an Oud for the solo but the closest BiaB alternative was 2034 Mandolin . . .

Herb Hartley aka Guitar Hacker contacted me and offered to help . . . all of the guitar parts in this piece are him

The singer is a young believer in India named Manas Paul that follows a blog I write and he offered to do the vocals for the song

Basically, there is nothing in the original style left LOL grin

Here is link to song:

Let me know what you think . .
Blessings!

This is a very cool song! Great chord progression and very well sung!!
During Herb's Solo there appears to be a very slight rhythmic inconsistency in either the drums or the guitar solo, but that's just a small nit ;-)

Well done!! Nice moody presentation of the psalm. Singer has a very cool voice, and Herb (though he calls himself Guitarhacker) is no hacker. Excellent guitar parts. Really a nice job all the way around!! Take care. Greg

Very nice arrangement. The vocals and Herb's guitar work are both spot on.

I enjoyed my listen.

This is a very good song and I enjoyed it a lot. It is well balanced, good mix and the vocals are great. Herb did a splendid job on the guitars and all you make a good team.

Thanks to Even If/Bill for letting me get in on this project.

The guitar is my Taylor recorded with a Rode NT2A. They are one shot takes start to finish.

I'm glad everyone here is enjoying this cool project. Thanks for listening.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Nice song! I especially like its melody and vocal. They gently struck my heart. Guitar play is also very good.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
