This is my first project with BIB 2016, thanks to PG for including me in the User Showcase Awards.
The first guitar in the song is, I believe, one of the new instruments for 2016. All instruments are BIB, I sang and played some percussion.
This was instructive and a lot of fun, now I'll get back to my own music.

the pauses in the guitar intro had to be edited in Pro Tools, I couldn't find a way to do it in BB. The reggae guitar in the Eagles version was done with a shaker, it was basically a percussive part anyway.

Thank you Will, to give us this interesting overview of what we can do with the Eagles Style (I think I havn't it yet in my RTs).

You say you had fun to handle these Tracks, I understand that. Having fun is, over all, the most important thing. I suppose the aim wasn't to remake exactly the same song smile

No hay banda! And yet we hear a band !

Very cool. Nice song to cover....and not the easiest.

There's a stumble/glitch right there about 5 seconds in. Trying to nail a cover exactly like the artist did it, using BB/RT can be a tough, uphill challenge.

Especially this one.... the Eagles had lots of pauses in this.... and other musical creativity that makes a direct note by note cover impossible using BB.

All things considered, not a bad cover of that tune. Did you speed it up there at the ending guitar solo? It felt faster. I was wondering how you would handle that epic guitar full frontal solo, and having the guitars swap and even the harmony parts were surprisingly well done.

I noticed the apparent tempo change as well, though both the beginning and end are timed at 130. The tempo pause after the second chorus goes to 100 for a moment, that's the first time I've tried that. The pauses in the guitar intro were difficult to recreate, but I thought they had to be there, at least two of them. I did it in ProTools by editing the held chord from 2534 onto the acoustic fingerpicking of 1681. That taught me a lot about editing in ProTools.
The little harmony part of the guitar solo at the end was done by transposing the song five steps and choosing a solo part that sounded reasonable against the first solo. Most of the solos are Pop Shining, with a little Texas included for Joe Walsh.

Thanks Bob. Songs like this put the pressure on me to deliver better vocals and I think it's paying off

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
