This is a piece I developed using Band in a Box, Finale and Sonar Platinum. The midi backing tracks were realized in Band in a Box then ported to Sonar and mixed there. The drums are Addictive Drums 2. The Bass is Sonar's S1:Bass. The piano is the Garritan JaBB Steinway Piano. The Electric Guitar is Strum from Sonar. The strings are GPO4. The sax is me playing my tenor. I hope you enjoy this easy listening pop tune. I know I enjoyed mixing it! https://soundcloud.com/richrayer/lifes-journey

Really cool man. You are using a lot of the same tools I know and love myself and making spectacular use of them. As you have discovered, BIAB is not just Real Tracks, there is some awesome stuff you can do with the midi capabilities, and using other synths, and combinations. (Mixing in real tracks with soft synths and live stuff too.)
Great job, I really enjoyed it!!

Thanks David and VideoTrack for the nice comments. After listening to it again and again, I decided to improve on the intonation of the sax. Here is the re-mastered version. https://soundcloud.com/richrayer/lifes-journey-mastered-2-24-16

Don, I am sorry for the problem. I did remove the original because there were a few (well a lot) of intonation problems with my first recording of the sax part. I replaced the link with this one: https://soundcloud.com/richrayer/lifes-journey-mastered-2-24-16But that link shows up farther down the posts as a new post and you probably didn't see it. I don't know how to edit a post in this forum so that the new link will show up in my original topic post. Maybe the link in this post will give you a chance to hear the piece.

I have worked on the piece and re-mastered it (I wasn't totally happy with the first result. Unfortunately, I don't know how to edit my original post to change the link. Therefore, I have put the new link in the reply section a few times. Here is the correct link: https://soundcloud.com/richrayer/lifes-journey-mastered-2-24-16

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
