Hello Everyone,
I've been a long time user of Band In A Box, but don't spend a lot of time on the forums. I probably should, rather than try to muddle through on my own!
Anyway, I just recently changed my hard drive to a SSD and then upgraded to Windows 10. It all seemed to work fine, but I'm not sure if I was on BIAB or not before I noticed this problem...
It now says that my BIAB 2014 needs to be activated and will not let me use it to play back a song. I've sent an email to PG Music, but have not received a message yet.
Could this be corrected by reinstalling BIAB 2014? Or did I somehow mess up a registry setting or other file needed by BIAB?
I'd like to upgrade to v.2016, but can't quite handle the cost, yet. Even so, there should be a simple fix for this... I just don't know what it is.
Any help is very appreciated!

Jim, Users get three activations so if you have only installed BIAB/RB once, you should still be able to activate it. The option to do so is found under "Help | Utilities". To activate, you need to have a live internet connection and your serial number. The serial number is found on the drive or box 2014 was shipped with. If you purchased from PG Music, you might also find it by logging into your user account from the PG Music homepage. PG Music will reset your activations if there is an issue beyond your control that uses them up. Contacting them was the correct thing to do. It would pay to use Live Help (found under Support). This way you'll get someone immediately. Here are the Easter hours...  Regards, Noel

I just recently changed my hard drive to a SSD and then upgraded to Windows 10. It now says that my BIAB 2014 needs to be activated and will not let me use it to play back a song. Happened the same to me; use the "Live Help" system; it'll take less than five minutes to resolve. HTH,

I am one of those people who often finds themselves re-installing Windows from scratch. PG Music has ALWAYS been gracious and quick to help me out when I have blown out licenses without doing the "transfer" routine. It's usually an unplanned event that causes me to do that, do I am very happy PG trusts its users and doesn't make us jump though hoops.

Thanks to you all for the answers. I'll do just what you suggested tomorrow (Monday). Hopefully we can get this straightened out without a re-install, but I've done that before! lol
You're a really good group here on the forum. Sorry I haven't been that active on it in a long time. I'll try to make up for that in the future.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
