Love that payoff for the chorus!! If I listed all of the great things about this, I'd kill a virtual tree (too many 1's and 0's). Fantastic song "angle", great lyrics, and music/vocals/mix to complete a wonderful delivery. Floyd continues to bat 1000!! Great, fun stuff Floyd!! Take care. Greg

HAHA! "kill a virtual tree..." Thanks for the fun review, Greg...

Thanks, Lawrence. Always nice when the "little things" are noticed and appreciated. Every time I here that last "here..." I think "Russel Smith...Amazing Rhythm Aces" (and "where'd that come from?")

Great! Sounds like it would be a juke box mainstay to me. I can smell the spilled beer and sawdust on the dance floor, and this one's been in the rotation so long that everyone knows it by it's letter and number. Darlin' play that G 29 again,
I feel like dancin', let's give it a whirl! (or something like that). And for some weird reason I think of Queen and imagine Freddie Mercury and someone says, hey how about a good old fashioned rocker like Elvis used to do? and Freddie comes up with Crazy Little Thing Called Love. Someone says, Floyd, how about a good old fashioned country driving dance song like you don't hear much anymore and Floyd comes up with a great one.

You are a great writer and performer Floyd Jane. Top shelf lyrics. I love the Truman pun (laughing). It would have very clever to have gotten that into the song somehow. Good stuff.

WOO HOO!!!

I LOVE THIS! It's so clever from start to finish... your rhymes are all very original... not a single cliche anywhere... and they have zing too!

Above the rhymes, the concept is also a very fresh adaptation of an age-old C&W theme... the title is also very appropriately woven into the mix without sounding contrived in any way shape or form!

Your choice of real tracks is as snappy as your delivery... perfect match all around... and you did all the right things to make your drums pop! There is a wide variety of skill evident in every aspect of this song, and the end result is just a complete immersion in the inimitable floyd jane experience!

Floyd.. (I'm not kidding here.. dead serious...) if you ever decide to take your show on the road, I want first shot at being in the band. I'll play any instrument in the mix, work as roadie or do sound just to be part of your group. Stick it in the back of your mind for future reference. ;-)

Dang! In the proverbial perfect world we'd flash back a few
years and Brooks and Dunn would have this at the top of
the chart. Really. Well, the write is better than the stuff
they did...but you get the point smile

Some us dink around with multiple genres/sub-genere's and
on occasion get away with it. But you are able to excel in them
from jazz (In The City) to country rock and a heap more in
between.

The write perfectly fits the groove although it is more nuanced
and subtle than one would anticipate for a country rocker.
And, man, that fj signature production. It's loud but nothing
is squashed (my new technical term) and EVERYTHING has it's
little niche happily and politely residing with everything else in the mix.

Superb!

when you did a break at "this is gonna stop....right here", I was like YES! Good Job! way to drive home the point using the music to emphasize the point!

I like the emphasis with the drums on "the rest of me might just keep on running" - I think I would have even seen you take it out another bar so I could run far enough away grin

very well constructed and thought out sound Floyd! Blessings!

Pat - HAHA! I so enjoy reading your reviews! I appreciate the join-the-band offer... Now and again, I think back to when I used to play in bars (as a solo or duo) and think "that might be fun" but the thought doesn't last long...considering all the work that would require. I do miss doing writers' nights - where you get to play original material and only need to be prepared to do 3 or 4 songs... haven't done that for a while either... it's just writing and recording these days. Like the Beatles! HA! Or Todd Rundgren! HA! And with this forum, my backup is spread across the world...we'll get you involved in the next one of those... "we are the world" - literally...

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
