Hey Tommy! Welcome back! I want to hear all about your travels!

Until then, let's talk about your song!

I missed the part about the tracks you played before listening, but I figured it out right away .. especially based on how well the pedal steel flowed! You are the real deal, and this is exactly how I most enjoy hearing BIAB being used: as a vehicle for combining RT and one's own playing !

Yeah as other have already commented, I love the imagery here.. really I love everything about the song... you are one more person on the forum who should be famous.

I'll echo ROG's invitation: if your travels take you through NC, you are always welcome to stop here!

Hello, Tom

I listened your song for the first time.
It is wonderful to play the pedal Steel by yourself and the play is so professional. I was really amazed.
It’s great sound and great play. Mixdown is clear and beautiful, and your vocal is so nice.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best Regards.

Great arrangement. Perfect selection of tracks.

And what a great realistic theme for a song.

Country at its best.

Thanks a lot. Just kept it simple. Tom

You got everything absolutely right - inspired lyrics, excellent vocals and super guitar work, especially the steel. Great production and mix too, just to finish it off.

Hey, if seeing the world brings you to the UK, give me a shout. Nowhere is far from anywhere else in England!

ROG.
ROG, Thanks for the kind words and yes the UK is on my list. Tom

Ray, Thanks for listening. Yes ozone has a desser that I sometimes forget to engage. I'll be thinking of that more in the future. Tom

Your production skills have gone through the roof.

The interplay between your Telecaster (nice picture!) and your steel is perfect. The guitar on the outro is especially nice. Your steel work throughout is a true standout. That snare is perfect.

Your vocals get better with each song. As do your harmonies (stellar!).

Nice write. You (like Bob) capture a lot in a few words.

Did I miss anything? ..likely... wouldn't want that hat to get TOO small...

floyd

(PS - thanks for noticing the signature lick in "The Heart Stops Here"... no one else seemed to catch that... smile )

Thanks floyd. The head thing only lasts a couple of days then the hats begin to fit again. Tom

Thanks Bob. In the big picture the trade worked out. The Steel kept me working for a long time. Tom

Tom, this is a terrific over the top production. Your vocals, steel and guitar take this to a
wonderful place. I love RT's but the way you can support a song with your touch on the
strings is amazing. You have a signature sound irrespective of the genre.

The first two lines had us from the git-go. Well actually I was had by drums at the intro.
I've been struggling with drum processing ALL morning. I'm on a tottering step ladder
and I can't reach that drum bar you established.

Rog said it all "You got everything exactly right!"

And what an addition to our SoundCloud playlist.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
