That is a real rocker Floyd. Tracks and roads...no place to go. Awesome production as always. A great listen all round.

Thanks you, Charlie.... (what is a crowdfund project? I don't really follow that stuff...)

Very strong. Reminds me of Springsteen. Darkness on the Edge of Town era. Gutsy guitar.

Jackson Brown meets Bruce Springsteen.

I hear echos of both in there. Jackson rocked it up on his Running on Empty album.... one of his best IMHO....

This sounded good.... what was going on there at the end? You should clean that ending up.

Hello, floyd

Very energy rock with a great driving beat and powerful vocals.
As Guenter said, the guitar solo and the piano fill sound like especially made for this song.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best Regards.

HAHA! Thanks, y'all. I can guarantee you that that is the first time anyone has ever suggested that "rock suits you well"...

Actually... this was one that just started at the first line and continued on. (I wrote the original lyric 35 years ago. did a few tweaks as I recorded it this time)

The guitar solo is at half-time. Those lower bpm solos are a lot more melodic - they "sing" the way think a solo ought to - not so much flash - which you get (at times) with a solo in the same general bpm range...

No live solos - all BIAB - maybe 5 or 6 gens to get the phrases that fit...

Hi Floyd,

This song is one of your best for me.
Very pleasant. Good rockin' in the background
and beautiful vocal.

You're totally original in this song and very strong but I can feel the early Bruce inspiration running through it, a driving and forceful song of spirit maybe down but not out. At least that's what I felt and I enjoyed the heck out of it. hope you stay on this path for awhile.

Kenny

Thanks, a bunch!, Kenny. Certainly humbled at that comparison. (Promise Land was always a fav from Darkness - earworm). I've got a few others in this vein... but they do tend to sound a little too similar when played sequentially. Thanks for the nice review..

Like Tom I was wondering about some of the guitars if they were played or not - either way they fit the song really well.
A good one.

Thanks, Peter. As I told Tom, the solos are all from BIAB... choosing a half-tempo solo on these type song gives more options - it's something I choose to do a lot...

I'm with Tom. So, was that the case. That just seems like one of those lines you could write a song around.

In this case... it was just one of those line that happened in place as it happened... sometimes that happens, you know?...

Very predictable "A plus" grade!

Thanks, Pat. I so enjoy having you drop by... yeah, I tend to make these type song have that Bruce feel/sound - years of having that blast my ears, I guess...even now... The guitar solos are always important to me and in this case, it was a conscious effort to achieve a Bruce-type lead. I especially appreciate that you "get" those end notes. One of my favorite parts... obviously, others don't understand the spontaneity of music and the creativity involved...

Not the time to read the other posts, I say only "fantastic". Bruce Springsteen has certainly been evoked yet. So you are the Boss floyd smile

>>> (what is a crowdfund project? I don't really follow that stuff...) <<<

Well, it turns out the actual term is Crowdsource... My bad. I didn't know as much as I thought I did...

From Wikipedia:

Crowdsourcing, a modern business term coined in 2006, is defined by Merriam-Webster as the process of obtaining needed services, ideas, or content by soliciting contributions from a large group of people, especially an online community, (my emphasis) rather than from employees or suppliers.

If I run into Jackson, I'll let him know. Sure he will be pleased.

The ending is just what I wanted it to be.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
