This is a song I wrote and recorded using several Real Tracks from various styles and added my voice and guitar with some additional synth parts and added effects. I feel that mixing tracks from different styles can sometimes produce good results. This is a song about making the wrong choice and having to live with the regret. Thanks for listening. Torrey.

Hi Torrey!

I like this! The guitar parts you added help to establish a signature theme for the song. I also like the synth... it really adds a smoothness to the song that makes it easy to listen to.

I also liked the drum intro. There were a couple of times when the drums seemed a bit busy. Of all the song styles, I think this is one of my favorites... the 70s ballad. Good job!

A great feel and sound. Enjoyed the vocals, and the lyrics and melody work so really well together.

You've put together a great number here.

I noted a similar singing style to forum member Greg Johnson, who always delivers excellent material.

Thanks for sharing. Nice job all 'round.

I'm going back for another listen.

I love this! I will have to try mixing styles. This is exactly the feel and mood for which I was searching on a song of mine. Your mix, vocal and lyric are just great. Good job and thanks for sharing.

Torrey,
Good choice of Realtracks in the mix
It's def. a nice ballad - the little guitar theme is good but does feel incomplete yet quite familiar though it fleshes out nicely in the solo.
Mixwise I think the bass is a little too woolly. It could use a cut in the low mids or something like the Stanford bass tightener - https://www.kvraudio.com/product/sanford-bass-tightener-by-sanford-sound-design
Cool song and recording

Cheers

Great stuff Torrey!! Reminds me of the late 70's or thereabouts, one of my favorite musical periods. Great job with everything-arrangement, mix, and vocals. This is the kind of song I'd like to start a road trip with-breezy, inspiring, and just darn pleasant to listen to. As I said, Great stuff!! Take care. Greg

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
