I hope you will indulge me while my BIAB projects remain somehow stuck in the kitchen on the stove cooking.

This is another Korg X3 MIDI composition from the late nineties - early 'oughts.

After listing to "Departure" by seeker, I hope to learn how to utilize BIAB for these types of compositions in the near future.

A good listen, Lawrence.

Nicely put together. Good mix.

A lot happening along the way. Good textures.

I do miss your vocals, though.

Wow Lawrence,

Shades of Jean Michel Jarre there, beautiful, hypnotic, I enjoyed it from the first note till the last.

Indulge you??? no, I just can't frame any comment on your wonderful music as an indulgence!

At a time when I was still cursing the general state of computer based recording and accomplishing very little in any direction, you were already making rich and complex arrangements like this one!

Considering the tools you had to work with, and the fact that you had to do all this with little or no computer help, I have to compare your ability to conceive all the intertwined parts to the ability of the classical composers to imagine all the parts in their compositions.

As I listen to this and hear how the various passages segue from one to another, I am very impressed. It takes a special awareness to hear something like this in one's mind before it actually exists... and then conjure the dream into reality.

Interesting to hear something that is so different from the very organic music you tend to make these days... but one core thing has remained constant, and that is your amazing ability to take what's in your head and capture it as a song. That's nothing short of a gift!

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
