This week's recording: Triple Talk

https://52tracksblog.com/2016/06/23/track-25-triple-talk/

Wrote it in 85 under the influence of Dire Straits, so I thought I would do an out and out homage to Mr. Knopfler and company.

Hi Fred
You sure captured the style (bends, runs, hammer-ons) and Strat sounds of Mr Knopfler! That's a similarly laid back song as well. The vocal harmony was a good hook. Nice work.
cool

A fun listen, Fred. Nice to hear a bit of "pop" in your weeklies...

A good write. Good production.

The vocal and harmonies are well done (as all of yours are). For this style song, I think they need a bit more processing for them to fit the song-style and sit in the mix properly (for this style). A tad less out-front. A personal preference of course. I think they could use some delay (maybe heavy on the harmonies) and perhaps a touch more reverb.

The song is catchy. I'm still hearing it... Enjoyable!

Thanks, Floyd. Great points--I was in a rush to finish a mix before my second cataract surgery this week. I will revisit the mix.

Fred
Certainly captured a nice Dire Straits vibe and nicely melodic as always.
A very good song.

Cool tune! Can't help but recognize that "Dire" guitar-works well here. George Harrison wrote one on this subject-"Gossip" I think was the title, "the Devil's radio". Nice one! Take care. Greg
