Sorry folks, been so much on the road - all kind of things interfering with songwriting but, I managed to write this little surf tune ( and boy, was it anything but easy ). http://soundcloud.com/user-337827005/under-the-surfer-moon-1http://app.box.com/s/mqfk5qyin4vbrdt415u171whz9seazatI used the following Style: TEKW10+.STY and that style included the following instros: Synbass: 40 Synbass 2 Elec Piano: 6 elec Piano 2 Drums: Realdrums =Technowildout AB - kick, kick Less Guitar 1: GM2 28/1 Elguit Detuned Clean Sweep Pad: 96 Pad Sweep Guitar 2: 28 Clean El Guit. Recorded with Mixcraft 7 PRO to my laptop with Stagg mic. the Lyrics are as follows: Under The Surfer Moon (Music and words by Norman Wibe) Let´s fly away my darlin´ fly from the coldest roon let´s fly away right soon stay there for all of June under the surfer moon we´ll be kissin´each other deeply in love Let´s go and feel the ocean ride on the wildest waves surfin´from dawn till noon earnin´the greatest voon under the surfer moon we´ll be huggin´each other tight in love Let´s find out what it really means to be out on the deep blue sea surfin´in love, together you and me Let´s fly away my darlin´ fly from the coldest roon let´s fly away right soon stay there for all of June under the surfer moon we´ll be kissin´each other deeply in love Let´s find out what it really means to be out on the deep blue sea surfin´in love, together you and me Will you not join me darlin´ let´s hurry far away we gotta get there fast summertime there won´t last then we´ll be under the moon I´ll be holding you oh so tight in love in love ! Hi Dani,
You seem to be making a quite home in the surfin' 60s genre these days! Loved the key change. It made me sit up and pay attention because I wasn't expecting it. That was a nice arranging touch indeed.
It's always a pleasure to listen to you sing and hear what you've put together.
All the best to you and Li, Noel

Hi, Scott !!!:))
I´m truly glad you liked the vocal harmonies as they were not easy to do not in the key I had chosen ! I could have altered the key but then again I had already sung the lead parts so.....
Thank you so much for your very kind words !
Cheers Dani

What a lovely song, very enjoyable! I always like creamy harmonies so this was a real listening pleasure, especially with the modulations going on in there.

Very, very sweet!! One of your best melodies ever-the Beach Boys would have had a top 10 with this. I see you've left the Loch and gone back to the ocean. Really beautiful Dani!! Take care. Greg

Hi, Rob and Anne-Marie !
How nice of you to bestowe such kind words on my performance !
I´ve used to falsetto- singing as I´ve done it all my life and in fact it is many times de facto easier than singing with a breast voice that in my case normally is kinda low !
Cheers Dani

A nicely constructed song. The harmonies work a treat. Some of the melodic phrases are def. Pet Sounds coolness. I was distracted though by "roon". At 1st I thought it was a typo but it was repeated... maybe it's rune or possibly lion but neither fit the context. I'm not sure what it should be so my mind has been distracted (I must be ADH).

Hi Dani!
This is awesome! It's definitely my new favorite among your Beach Boys themed songs!
The vocals are tight, the lyrics are very similar to the kinds of lyrics in Brian Wilson's early songs, and the chord pattern was also very interesting and appropriate to the style! As mentioned by others, the melody is also original and good for the genre, and I think the crowning glory is your choice of harmonic notes.
I have a TCHelicon vocal harmonizer for live gigs, and it's overwhelming how many different kinds of harmonies can be used in a song. This harmony isn't the standard 3rd up that you tend to hear on 75% of songs! As a barber shop guy, I'm sure you are far more aware of harmonic possibilities than most of us, and your Beach Boys series is a good showcase for that knowledge. (This song especially)
GREAT JOB!

Hi, Pat !:))
I am feeling humble by your more than kind comments and want to thank you for them so very much. I do not think I am the one on the forum that has the widest range but I did discover my falsetto already at young age and have been practizing singing in many voices from way back in school times.
Thank you Pat for your most kind words !

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
