This new song is by way of a homage to the first band I played during the 'swinging 60s' here in the UK. My friend Richard came up with the lyrics and I set them to music.

You Tube: "The Rubber Band"
(Change to 1080HD if it doesn't default)

This started out in BIAB using style _POP8THS shifted up to 123bpm, but lately I've been forcing myself down the 'less is more route' so I gradually subtracted elements, replacing what was left in the end with drums, bass, a simple 60s organ part, and small beeps on a synth. I did the rhythm and lead guitar parts. More info and lyrics can be had here:-

Hi John,

this song and your background story brought back some memories of the beat era. Thanks for that.
The lyrics, arrangement, vocal delivery and guitar playing are top notch. The video fit like a glove.
Enjoyable watch and listen.

John, This is a well thought out and conceived take on the 60's sound. The guitars in the end are fantastic. Very well sung and produced and topped off with a really cool video. Great work! Tom

Well done.
Lyrically the chorus is a bit of a spoiler to the developing story in the verses.
Your parts work really well. The sparkle in the song comes from the guitars.
Cool.

John,

Yes, I was waiting for another top-quality production from you.
And I know that usually comes with a very professional video!

Very well done!!
Top-notch production, vocals and of course a beautiful guitar solo.

John, there is a ton of stuff to like here. The lyric, the vocals, your playing, the
backing tracks and the video all fit together tightly. This is one of those
productions that I really like where there is nothing left to add and nothing
left to take away.

Congrats, we much enjoyed it.

Hi John,

This is an outstanding production, performance and presentation. Bud is right, nothing needs adding, nothing needs taking away. Your playing sounds excellent here on my speakers.

I think the name "The Rubber Band" is a great name! So many images are captured by the phrase!

I really enjoyed everything about this.

Regards,
Noel

Hi John,

As Bob says, cool 60s this whole production was great. You were able to capture that era to perfection. Loved the riffs. If this is ‘less as you say, give us ‘more. You have a new fan.

Excellent, John.

Everything about this captures the era perfectly.
The sound, the song structure, the story lyric...

Nice pumping bass. Good drum sound. Perfect signature guitar chord figure.
The organ really adds to the "era sound". Lemon Pipers-like...

Loved your solo.

Solid mix (as are all of your mixes). Great listen.

What a tragic story...

A BIG +1

This is the theme song of every 60's garage band!

This is a keeper.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

What a fantastic "MTV" Style delivery

Fantastic effort, great song, amazing vision.

Tells the story of a sensational journey, which frankly has a lot to still tell.

Great effort from all directions. Congratulations.

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
