Green Bananas

©2016 Robert Randall Burke

Went to the doctor
Just the other day
Just to see what he would say
He looked at me
In his serious way
And said......

“Don't buy no Green Bananas
Don't make no
Long-term plans
If you got a bucket list
You better get checking it
And on your next visit
You can pay in advance.”

“Don't buy no Green Bananas
Don't buy no mutual funds
Buy your beer
By the bottle
And on your next visit
You can pay in advance”.

“Hey, you kids! Get off my lawn!”
“What time is the Early Bird”
“Back in my day....well....”
“Aw, you young whippersnapper!”
“Welcome to Florida. Here's your golf cart
and your Handicapped Tag.”

Hahahahaha....my mother used to say that when she was younger than I am now. Scary!

There's a ton of fun packed in this one! And then there's your always cool vocals and production.

Superb!

Pat,

Thanks. We haven't played this live yet. "Live" is a misnomer when your demographic is 120 years old! grin

Funny tune. I have an Aunt who claims to be older than dirt and never buys green bananas.

Good lyrics that remind of something Paul McCartney would do.

Haha,
you got the old man boogie as well.
I always read the weekly obituary pages in the local paper just to check that I am not in it.

That would be a good live song!

Alyn

Alyn,

Good to "see" you! It's funny, but I had you in mind while writing this thing. I initially wanted to do a Brit accent, but chickened out. grin

I think it would sound better with you singing it. In Welsh. grin

Bob

the verse:

Peidiwch â phrynu dim Bananas Gwyrdd
Peidiwch â gwneud dim
cynlluniau tymor hir
Os cawsoch rhestr bwced
Byddwch yn cael gwell gwirio ei
Ac ar eich ymweliad nesaf
Gallwch dalu o flaen llaw.

not so catchy now eh Bob!! grin

LOL! Nice touch with the Dixieland Jazz sorta reminding me of the Nawlins funeral march music too.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
