Hi,

I've been using GPO v1.5 as the BIAB VSTi for a while now without problems.

Recently updated the GPO player to the latest v1.872 but the player GUI is not showing the full interface.
GPO works in all other DAWS as expected.

Attached a screen shot of the player, wondering if anyone else using GPO has this problem.

Hello Brian,

Earlier versions of 2016 Band-in-a-Box have a problem displaying some VSTi interfaces. The most recent version, build 436 I believe, is supposed to fix the cut off VSTi interface display.

I use Garritan in Real Band if I use it, that is where it is useful for scoring, and no it does not work in my updated version of Real Band with the updated Aria player that is large format.

Rumor has it the updated Aria player hasa much larger GUI footprint than the older player and is simply not compatible with Real Band's layout. I have talked to folks in both companies.

I think they were working on it but have not heard a fix date.

I have to do my classical mixes in Sonar where I can see the full screen or else I can't get to the effects panel.

If you call tech support and get a date I would be interested to know. Thanks

I reported this a few months ago BUT IT WAS fixed, and IS fixed for me anyway, using BIAB build 436

ARIA player (AKA "Garritan") V1.872 and engine V1.872

Hi,

Thanks for the replies, I'm still using BIAB 2013 which serves my needs at the moment.

It seems the update which fixes this problem is only for BIAB 2016, unless tech support have a fix for earlier versions I'm unable to use the plugin.

Regards

Interesting to note the intermingled replies apply to Band-in-a-Box and RealBand.

The status seems to be: Band-in-a-Box 2016 Build 436 (current build at this point in time) does support large VSTi GUIs and RealBand 2016 Build 7 (again current at this point in time) does not support large VSTi GUIs.

PG Music has released a bunch of updates this year that address many issues identified in the forum. Hopefully that trend will continue with this issue in mind.

JIm

I assume they just haven't gotten to RB yet (the RB build 7 was a month before the one for BIAB or PTPA 2016, and the V7 RB update was just about the SAME time this was re-re-reported to tech support as an issue)

I guess a hint to Tech support is in order to "remember" RealBand wink

This should be fixed in Build 9 of RB 2016

Jeff, any news about the long time Wishlist item concerning removing the PG "selection" box that takes up the top third of the VST screen and simply displaying the VST plugin window by itself?

I've asked about this numerous times. I'm okay with the PG selection box, but wish it was more of a pop down when you hovered the mouse at the top, rather than always on screen. Or barring that, a single button to bring it up, and then it goes away again.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
