Hi All,

Here's a little song about a moment in time - a snapshot of musical life from NYC that stays with me…

This song is called Chelsea Girl.

I wanted to give this arrangement somewhat of a loose indie feel.

Edited: Adjusted the lead guitar - thanks Steve, Charlie & ROG.

Bob,

That is a very nice Dylan like sound you've got going there.
Well done!

Bob,

As always, you have created another good, solid write. I don't think I have ever listened to one of your songs where I didn't feel challenged to write better lyrics. I've told you that many times. This one is no exception. The only slight nit that I have is that I would have liked the lead guitar brought up just a bit in the mix.

Really great song.

Great write, production and mix. I agree with Steve the lead guitar should come up just a bit but that takes nothing away from the song. Your vocals shined on this one to my my ear.

Steve,

Thanks - that's very kind of you.

I was on the fence about the lead guitar volume, but agree it needs to come up - will do that over the next couple of days.

Bob,
Your voice is unique - in a good way. Its taken me a few songs to get used to it; now I enjoy your signature sound!
The lyrics are poetic and drew me into the story... left me wanting to know more ( a 3rd verse?), so you suceeded in creating a mystery to the song.

Like an August rain
She was done too soon

Very good.

Very nice Bob...yep it would be nice to know more about her! But you've artfully laid the mystique down and we can take it where we want to.

Superb lyrics and production!

Nicely done, Bob. I think we may have trucked down some of the same streets in the city way back when. This reminds me of Bleecker & MacDougal music. grin

Bob,

Everyone's mentioned the lyrics. I like the melody and chord progression a lot too.
Can't help myself, I love it when you add that rock edge.
Catchy and your voice sounds super on it!

Hi Bob.

Yeah, as the others have said, VERY Dylan!

Great lyrics, again already mentioned, and your own personality stamped right through the whole song.

Good mix, too, but I agree about the solo - maybe up a bit and panned central?

Always look forward to your posts.

ROG.

Bob, This is another one of your poetic pieces that seem to capture the feel of particular location. In this case it has Greenwich Village all over it. Nice production and a good delivery. It's a cheap way to travel. Loved it, Tom

This is Lou Reed.

You did a great job on this, Bob... Your writes are always interesting and intriguing. Nice band. The tambourine was a nice touch and well mixed.

Really enjoyed that...

Bob,

You've done it again! Another great song to add to your catalogue. Classic Robert Dean, this time with a twist of rock. Really, really enjoyable.

I loved the opening. You really set a powerful scene with these words...
Quote:
She was a hippy child
A holy roller for peace
By the day’s first light
She was on the streets

All the best,
Noel

I'm late to the party so everything that I wanted to say has already been said.

Bob at his best is all that I can add.

This is a keeper.

I think it's a great write and a cool song, I had to look to see which acoustic guitar was being used, it sounds so good here, everything in the mix sounds good, esp. drums, lead guitar is hot, must have been re-mixed by the time I'm hearing it. Little Dylan, little Reed, but all "Bob" . You've been posting some great songs.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
