This was originally a finger-picking song which didn't hit that spot and dedicated to Elvis, Freddie Mercury, John Lennon, David Bowie, and the musician mates lost in the last 2 years Gary, Stroudie, Alan, Albert and Dick the dogs ( long story hahaha)

SO vocals loaded into BIAB and then the song changed for the better because of the contest.

Angels can sing Rock and Roll

At least there's something we now know
there's no reason for him to go
but the difference in the way we speak and hold it tight oh no-o
at least there's something we now know
we now know angels can sing rock and roll

there's still a lot that we got left
all the memories just won't fade
gones the difference in the way we speak and hold it tight oh no-o
at least there's something we now know
we now know angels can sing rock and roll

aah just a king
ooh just a king
I'll never know
if it's gonna come true like they say
might as well do as they say
it doesn't matter

all as one we feel the same
each feels different as a name
but the difference in the way we speak and hold it tight oh no-o
at least there's something we now know
we now know angels can sing rock and roll

ooh just a king
ooh just a king
I'll never know
if it's gonna come true like they say
might as well do as they say
it doesn't matter
anymore

Hi Alyn,

No-one, absolutely no-one creates and presents music like you. Without exception, at the end of your songs, I always find myself sitting back in my chair and reflecting on your lyrics. You make me think and I really like that. Too many fine people have definitely left Earth way too soon.

Thank you for yet another journey in music and thought.

All the best,
Noel

You're breaking my heart here, boy. Such a sad song!

The chorus is so ethereal...

Thanks for showing off that style. Well done...

I was waiting for an explosive change somewhere on the first third of the song,
(Because I really love that in your songs!) but that didn't come.......
what did come was a very cool transition, Very effective chord change like we've come to know so well in your music.

I started this song when Elvis died in 1977 and finished the lyrics last year when my ole guitar sparring partner Albert died, But as an acoustic guitar song it was "just like any other folk song" THEN this style really brought the song to life.

Thanks for listening and yes too many good folks have passed recently

Thanks David, as I said in the reply to floyd this style REALLY works in this song.
I sat back and went WOW when I first heard it in BIAB. It was almost perfect as it was, straight from the box.

Hello, Alyn

Melancholic and beautiful song with unique chord progressions!
Somehow I feel a trace of John Lennon in your vocals.
Very enjoyable listen.

Best Regards.

Serenade Songwriter Folktronica--Now, that's a name for a style! This is really cool Alyn!! I do hear the "serenade" element in the music. Very nice tribute! I particularly love the dreamy feel of the choruses. This is vintage GIBSON!! Take care. Greg

Good to hear from you, so glad you enjoyed it.
Lennon was a great influence on me when I was growing up and in my early recording days I read how his voice was recorded and tried to emulate him!

all the best

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
