Earlier this year we launched our Band-in-a-Box Radio SoundCloud page, which is packed full of songs that have been shared on our User Showcase Forum.

With the SoundCloud iTunes & Google Play apps, you can play the Band-in-a-Box Radio songs wherever you go!

We've made listening even easier by splitting up the songs by genre: Jazz, Rock & Pop, and Country & Folk. We've also added playlists for Recent Songs and Featured Songs.

If you've been submitting songs to our User Showcase Forum, but don't have a SoundCloud account yet, please sign up for one and use it to share your songs in the future - that way we can add them to our Band-in-a-Box Radio playlist!

What about playing any of this via my desktop iTunes on my home computer? I still haven't found the way to do that. I tried using the "Playlist" saving feature on SC, which gave me an .m3u file but my iTunes had no idea what to do with it confused

Hi Icelander,

If you're on your home computer, why not just run it from the browser?

I did a quick search in YouTube for "How to get music from SoundCloud onto iTunes" and there are a few tutorials there that could help.

I have to be honest, I'm not overly familiar with the iTunes App for SoundCloud, but did look at the detailed description for it (here: https://itunes.apple.com/en/app/soundcloud/id336353151?mt=8). Are you wanting to use SoundCloud offline? According to the App details, it's possible with a SoundCloud Go account: https://soundcloud.com/go

But, since the Go option isn't available in Canada yet, I was unable to test it.

Something like that, yes, or just to have it running in the background on something low CPU while I'm doing something else on the computer etc.

Same issue with Iceland smirk

Thanks for the info and the other reading material which I'll be looking closer at and see if it gets me somewhere further.

Interestingly, I did find a way to save the track list as an .m3u, like I mentioned above, and I've discovered that while iTunes can't cope with it, other media players like my Quicktime Player can (and same goes for the VLC media player). So I think I'll just stick with those until iTunes "Radio" makes a way to include SC (if that ever happens).

I found the following on page 369 of my BB 2016 manual:
"SoundCloud
When you upload an audio file to SoundCloud, a copy of the will be saved in this folder."

A copy of the what? Where can I find it?

regards,
Pietro

If that is an accurate quote from the manual, then obviously there's a missing word there, good catch. It should say "...a copy of the audio file..." (although the grammar geek in me would prefer it be simply "a copy of it").
And the folder in question is called SoundCloud, found within your Band-in-a-Box folder.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
