I had forgotten all about this song, it was written for a girl I met in Honduras when I was doing relief work in 1975. I had trouble finding the music, could only remember parts of it, but then found it in the bottom of a box in the attic. It's one of the very few songs I've written in waltz time. Most instruments are BB, overdubs include my new Telecaster and an antique pump organ. Sorry I've been missing, I've been working on three songs that all need my friend Bob Brigham to sing, and he hasn't been available. One of the songs is a cover of White Wedding, all BB, and has been great fun to record.

Will,
A song well worth digging from the attic!
I enjoyed this - especially the chorus melody with that interesting drone sound of the organ giving it a celtic feel.
Nice that you included the Spanish verse.

Love the vocal harmonies in this, Will. Like Robert says, the organ drone in the chorus is a very effective touch, and unique, too! Great job.

Will,

I really enjoyed this very catchy tune. I love the overall production and vocal harmonies.

It has the same feelgood vibe as Peter Sarstedt's Where Do You Go To My Lovely.

Great job.

Yeh, I didn't see a category that I felt was appropriate, I certainly wouldn't call it country anything. I decided Alternative was a good catch-all. I actually found Maria Elena on Facebook, she's a teacher in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. I sent a link to the song, but haven't heard back from her yet.

Will, I almost missed this one but I am really glad that I didn't. This is a great song. I liked the triplet feel as well as your vocals (great harmonies). Your instrumentation is spot on for the song's feel and the mix is very good.

Two thumbs up.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

Thank you so much Mario. Maria Elena contacted me through Facebook and we had a nice chat. She likes the song and remembers me.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
