Thanks Peter! I know you and I (as well as many on this forum) appreciate the vintage sound. It's great that BIAB allows is to be easily re-created. Love your guitar on your latest-tasty!! Take care. Greg

Great lyrics and beautiful singing as always.

Thanks Janne!! Yeah, sometimes I wonder if songs are floating around out there like spirits and sometimes we are open enough to receive them (like in dreams). Appreciate the kind words! Take care. Greg

Hi Greg, just heard this for the first time. Love the way the melody smoothly glides through this song. Everything was great in particular the vocal. I hear (perhaps subconsciously) strong Roy Orbison and Beach Boys influences here, which is a very good thing!! Take care, Torrey.

Just kidding! But seriously Greg. I don't think anyone can say where this song came from. The only thing that matters is that it's not gone.

Ok, I'll stop!!! smile Greg, I really loved this production and your vocal is outstanding. Perhaps the best vocal I have heard from you yet. Really top notch.

Cheers!

Thanks David! Yeah, the first line just kind of came into my head, after floating on the breeze for 50 years, so I just went with it. Thanks for your consistent kind words and encouragement. You've been posting some killer stuff! Take care. Greg

This is so good on so many levels. Great write. Excellent arrangement and mix. The vocals and harmonies shine. The melody is spot on.

You've got a song that would fit into the repertoire of so many artists as others have mentioned. All the choices would work but for me, it would really fit with BJ Thomas.

I always look forward to your posts and knowing I'll love the song and performance before I ever hear a note. This is no exception and is my new favorite. Job, well done.

Enjoyed my listen.

Charlie

Hey Greg. Man what a great write! I thought the vocal & backgrounds were outstanding. Excellent production. A true "time nugget"... cool I was 5 in 1966. How old were you?

Greg,

As far as I can tell, "outstanding" and "Greg Johnson" are synomyms!!! This is a really excellent creation. The writing, musical and lyrical, is first class.

I thoroughly enjoy your melodies. I've mentioned this before, but you are one of the best melodists around here. The words you write sit so very comfortably with the note-pitches and -timing that you choose that it's difficult for me to imagine any melodic options other than what you sing. On top of this, your melodies are fresh and indelibly memorable.

Yet another fine song for you collection.

Regards,
Noel

I listened to you latest creation and wow. you are very good. I loved it. I also listened to some of your other song's, is this all "Band in a Box"? I love your style and easy listening songs. I am going to come back and listen to them often, excellent music my friend.

Mario mentioned the Byrds and the BB. Sort of like the Beach Boys meet the Byrds and then Don Henley drops by!

Your production well showcases the lyric and the vocals. This is a super addition to our SC playlist!

Good writing! You had me hooked with the opening "Ruby Tuesday" line, I used to own that 45 back in the mid 60's. But, just got better from there. Great vocal! I dig the backup vocal too.

But the real star here is MELODY. It sometimes seems a "lost art". You continually hit the mark - in spades. This has all the earmarks of those great AM hits in the golden era of AM radio - when "catchy was king"... The Turtles! The Grass Roots! Tommy James and the Shondells..."Red Rubber Ball", "Green Tambourine"... Pure Ear Candy.

Awesome.

This may have been the nicest review I've ever had! I'm tempted to print it out and put in on the wall of my studio for inspiration. Very much appreciated my friend! Take care. Greg

Thanks Will! It's great to see the PG staff commenting on the songs. I'd LOVE to have a song in a film someday. That's pretty much my dream. Thanks for listening. Take care. Greg

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
