I just posted this piece to Soundcloud. It was just an experiment in using major and minor chords to make a progression. The result is what you hear.

The style is 80's Soundtrack with Mark Douthit's RealTrack on Tenor Saxophone.

I hope you enjoy the listen.

Agree! I would put a little more verb on the sax. Enjoyed it! Take care. Greg

Cool instrumental. I enjoyed the airy feel to the backing and the Sax was great.
Must check out that RT.

All the best,
Jez

I appreciate your comments. I had toyed with the idea of using more sax reverb but felt that where I finally set the reverb for sax sounded best compared to the rest of the instruments. I guess it comes down to what you prefer.

Thanks,

The melodic diverseness gave the song interest and appeal.
Yes, the choice of keys introduced dimension.
Like others have mentioned, the sax is a little dry. Giving some reverb would color the delivery more.

Loved the sax, and the chord progression was very cool to listen to. I liked that 80s style synth backing as well.

Thanks for the comments.

I will try a little more reverb and see how that feels and sounds to me. I would guess I hear it dryer because I play sax and clarinet in groups and I hear that dryer sound from my position in the group.

I was toying around with a progression that avoids the tonic and dominant chords until when they are actually needed and this is the result. I am glad you liked it.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
