Just for fun....
I tried to make imperfect, at times a little too loud solo instrument, and not loud enough at times, the way live performances can sound (stage monitors for groups aren't perfect).
QUESTION: Your help please. If you didn't know about BIAB, how realistic would you think this is? [Link no longer valid]
Thanks for your time.
(*I downloaded dozens of tracts/loops, but was limited in crowd applause for the end, I wanted to make it sound like a room of around 100 folks, with clapping a little cleaner. But, I could not find, or could not find without virus warnings, an applause track that was 10-20ish seconds in that range. Most were 2-5 seconds with fades, so I had to mix/overlap them.)
I played rhythm, acoustic guitar 520 Elec Bass 524 Ac Git Strum Nashville2BeatSW8^10-Ride 1868 Resonator 1871 Fiddle 589 Banjo 2498 Ac Piano Rockabilly/Swing I didn't keep track of which tambourine. There are 2 available in BIAB in this range and I blended them, switched them as needed.)

Hi Andy Loved the "crowd sound" start to this. The mix sounds good to me. Very nice listen.

Thank you, Joanne. Greatly appreciate you comment. To me it sounds extremely different on different systems. I expect a little difference, but, and maybe this is common, on one system (say my PC) the instruments come off as a little up and down, just liked I experience at live shows, then on another device, the resonator, for example, jumps way in front, so darn loud. I've gone back and forth on it for so long that I probably can no longer be a true 3rd party in it. I need to move on to other projects!

Nice song and good mix!! The live thing is tricky. Never tried it myself but have heard good and bad examples. This doesn't feel naturally live. I would send a PM to TommyC (Tommy Cole). He does it very well. Take care. Greg

Andy A, I'll tell you what, you got pretty close here with what you were going for. One thing that might help is to keep some kind of low level ambient noise going after the initial applause. You did a pretty good job here. Thanks, Torrey

Andy,
I enjoyed this - you have a great voice for this country style and the instruments work well together. At times some of the backing does fade way back on my headset. I`d agree with Greg - most listeners would tell that`s its not a live recording - but that doesn`t mean the background sounds don`t add to the feel of the track - the ending was fun!

Andy, Love the live feel especially the ending HAHA brilliant. Your song sounds like the feed was taken of the mixer and maybe "the vocals added later" but I have no idea how to change that in a recording to make it all live. Great song tho' and a great idea
enjoyed

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
