Here is another example of when I want less not more.
besides the Rt Drums this is all Midi. Its just another way I let BiaB 'create the song

I open up a style in BB in this case it was Sender sty Sender- Very slow rock and it had all these going allready there Midi 36 Fretless bass 2 Bright Piano Poly synth 91 Poly –Polysynth
Instruments 50 slow strings I start in C mj and just a add a D or a Em any note at random places add subtract till I feel they are talking to each other, then I move the Bps up and down in this case I settled on 115 then slowly a 'story' or lyrics start to come into my head. I leave that and come back to add or remove notes that are more fitting for the song. Only then do I look at adding more instruments. This is where I often break down and start throwing every thing short of the kitchen sink at it. I was going to add the 'slash guitar the Sender – Very slow rock to it, but decided against it, why ? I don’t know it’s a great Rt maybe down the line one day

Those were early days in my BB journey

Enjoyed the listen Paddy. It would be good if you post the lyrics.

Is this a recent song? You mentioned: "Those were early days in my BB journey "

That is a very cool song! It's very original and also very different from lots of other music posted on the forum. Very original chordsequence.
This sure shows your versatility as a songwriter.

Paddy,

I enjoyed this song-its rockier & slightly edgier than your other recent postings. Your vocals have a good feel and the lyrics reinforce the rhythm.
Any thoughts on recording this with RT`s?

Awesome vocal in this. I love the parallel structure in the verse, how the lines alternate between travelling upwards and downwards at the end. Really nice, and turns it into a singalong right away! Great job.

A cool song, Paddy. Good vocal - as others have mentioned. This reminded me of late 60's (or early 70's) rock... Jefferson Airplane came to mind...

Catchy...Well done.

This is a really snappy, catch production. A real toe tapper! I enjoyed it a lot. Nice vocals echoes at the end.

We're on board with all of the above. The tune has great
energy and, yep, that piano is driving it well.

And it's got that "make you come back for another listen"
quality. The vocals and the complete mix sound very good
on our monitors. Makes for a fine addition to our SC playlist.

Kudos!

Impressive drive on this Paddy. Your voice is excellent, and very Harry Chapin!
Good stuff.

Really cool song Paddy!! As someone else mentioned, a little more rock than your usual. Very well done. I would make the piano a bit softer and pad a bit louder. Well done!! Take care. Greg

Paddy G, great vocals and great energy. This song had me thinking of Buffalo Springfield or as someone else said Jefferson Airplane. Take care, Torrey

Paddy,

Loved your vocal on this one (also the subtle use of echo near the end).
Some nice harmonies and the unusual chord changes held my attention.

Good job,
Jez

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
