Here is a song I wrote commemorating my son. Hope you enjoy it.
Jeremy.mp3 from The Soundsmith site.
The piano is me, everything else is BiaB. I especially like the transition at the end of the solo chorus when the rhythm just backs off exactly as a real band would do. The RealDrums are the primary reason I own BiaB, this is a perfect example of why.

****** Song Summary *************
Title: Jeremy Bolero
Key=Gm , Tempo 92, Length (m:s)=5:02
Arrangement: Intro, head in, 1 chorus solo, head out.
Style is _CBOSBOL.STY (Bossa & Bolero Mix Quartet )
RealTracks in style: ~711:Bass, Acoustic, Bossa Ev 085
RealTracks in style: 1904:Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm Bolero Ev 090
RealTracks in style: 1903:Guitar, Acoustic, Rhythm Bolero Ev 090
RealTracks in song: ~1103:Guitar, Nylon, Rhythm BossaGrooveComp Ev 085
RealTracks in song: 2458:Strings, Rhythm CelticWaltz Ev 100
RealTracks in song: 2457:Strings, Rhythm CelticAir Ev 085
RealDrums in style: BossaBrushes: a: Sidestick Brushes b: Sidestick, Ride

mastered in Digital Performer at a now-defunct studio in Monterey CA

It's all about the music.
(I keep telling myself that...)

What a sensational arrangement. This is a really classy piece.

You captured a wonderful melody and delivered it as a masterpiece.

Very, very enjoyable.

Which Piano did you use? It resonates beautifully.

David, what a fantastic piece of music!! I could listen to this all day! It puts one in a very serene and contemplative state of mind. I know a Jazz tune is working for me when my head is nodding back and forth and it certainly was here. Great work all the way around. Thanks, Torrey

proof again that virtuoso playing is not about how many notes you hit but hitting the right ones at the right time.
I can only echo the comments above and found the piece captivating.

Like Greg alluded to...this has film score written all over it.

It's beautifully played and arranged.

Well done!

Hello, David

What a fantastic tune!
As if I were listening to Jazz Bossa CD album played by Herbie Hancock, Bill Evans or some one with Ron Carter and arranged Claus Ogerman.
Piano tone is so pleasant and beautiful.
I was very impressed the use of the short and nice motif and some tension notes.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best Regards.

Thanks again, guys. BiaB makes all the difference as a solo artist. I can play bass parts, but a believable drummer has never been my forte (or my piano...)

Waiting anxiously for the 2017 tracks. (Don't really care about progam update, it does way more that I will ever use - but more Real tracks please... whistle

Couldn't have put it better myself -- your piano playing is extremely tasteful, David! I can only imagine what you're going to get up to with new RealTracks.

User Tip: How to add drum fills without changing any other tracks

MarioD has shared some great advice when it comes to adding drum fills without changing any other tracks in your song:

There have been a number of questions asking how to add drum fills without changing any other tracks in a song. This is especially important if one is holding a chord for a few measures and wants to add a drum fill prior to the next chord. The following is how to accomplish that:

1-get the instruments/tracks to play like you want but don't worry about the drums for now.
2-generate the song.
3-freeze all tracks
4-unfreeze the drum track
5-add your fills where you want them
6-generated the song again - note this will only generate the drum track and not the frozen tracks
7- when you get the drums like you want them freeze the track

Review - Band-in-a-Box® 2023 for Windows is Overflowing with Features!

Dennis posted his very thorough Band-in-a-Box® review recently, where he dives into some of the new features added with version 2023: Sound-Guy's Band-in-a-Box Review

Read his thoughts on the Download & Install Manager, partial track regeneration, Playable RealTracks, Audio Editing, the addition of SynthMaster, the VST DAW Plugin, and more!

"Band-in-a-Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is, without negative connotation, a monster of a program. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. No DAW can do some of the things BIAB does, while BIAB can do a lot that DAWs do."
